Leak of burnoff??? I just installed my dp/tp and now I am getting smoke where the downpipe connects to the turbo. I can't tell if it is leaking or that is the PB blaster burning off. Did any body else have a similar problem? I used the stock gasket because it looked to be in good shape. Car only has 11k on it. If it is visibly leaking there, would that throw a CEL or no? |
wait a day or two. See if its still there. |
I had a burning smell as well, lasted a few days, then it was gone. Hopefully it is the PB blaster burning off. |
ive put 4 diff DP's on my car, done that every time for about 2 days after install, its just the lube burning off |
It really looks like a leak to me. With my hood up it comes out around the intercooler. With the hood down its coming out of the scoop. It doesn't sound like it is leaking however. I would assume a leak that large would be able to be heard. Thoughts? |
does it smell like exhuast, or like PB blaster? like everyone said, its most likely the lube burning off. mine did the same thing for about a day. |

It's the PB blaster, coating on the new part, skin oil that you put on it, etc etc. Give it a few heat cycles, then report back. |
PB Blaster |
I just installed cs rp and cbe sprayed pb blaster all over that mother. Did it two days ago and the burnt rubber smell is just now starting to fade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free |
Yeah, turns out it was the pb blaster. |
