Have fun with power steering leaks and 2bagillion dollar parts that no one carries. |
You came to a MAZDA forum to ask about trading in your mazda for a BMW? http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instanc...x/31371234.jpg |
Do it if you have the money, have great potential, look better, bigger aftermarket. Gotta pay to play tho. |

advice on what? should you trade your speed 3 for a better car? yes if you can afford it Quote:
you own a pu, you have no say in the "looks" department |
They are great cars and rocket fast with the twin turbo. Will smoke all the pocket rockets out there. I have a 128i (automatic) with the M package suspension- fantastic car- handles like a race car although it has relatively slow straight line acceleration compared to the MS3 and especially a 135i. A 128i 6 speed will match an MS3 in acceleration, the 135i will just kill it. Be prepared for the high maintenance costs- the high grade European engine oil is very expensive. You can't buy the $33.00 regular synthetic specials any more. My 128i takes 7 quarts BMW LL01 grade oil at 8.00 a quart- and then it needs a 10.00 filter as well. And the gear and transmission oil is super expensive as well. Just be prepared for it, that's all. |
My buddy has a 135i with M appearance package. The car is awesome. According to BMW you don't need to change the oil for like 8 or 10 thousand miles. Also, not sure if it was the package he got but his came with Run-Flat tires which suck so might want to look into that. Also, there is no jack points underneath the car unless you buy a adapter. We tried to jack his car up without it but it didn't really work out. |
It will leak like a steal strainer... Trust me. BMW Advisor in the house. Interior is cheap by BMW standards. It will develope rattles. Shifter throw is to long for my tastes. They do program well but not a high longevity motor if run hard on regular. |
Wait, a straight up trade or trade it into the dealer? You will get more money for the MS3 if you sell it via private sale. |

Make sure you get the optional tampon holder. |
Screw a JB4. Cobb AP rocks those cars. N54 tunes have been out. N55 AP is due any day.... |
You drove a 335i and now want a 135i? you realize a 1 series is a faggot car right? its a fucking 1 series. The only BMW anyone is allowed to own without being a flaming douche is an M3 or M6. Everything else is homosexual, just like you. |
Don't trade for 135i as the performance factor is what you are after. Yes, the N54/N55 motors are strong with vast aftermarket support. But N54/N55 motors are notorious for HPFP issues(just google), turbo wastegate rattles,etc..... If you still has your heart set on the 1 series, at least, I mean at least opt for 1M. You may also want to think about extended warranty for any pre-owned BMW's as their maintenance is extremely expensive once the manufacturer's warranty expires. I don't want to write an essay about BMW's, but be prepared to fork out cash for any issues after the fact. How do I know? I used to be a die hard BMW owner. MZS3 changed my perspective that there are other bargains out there that can offer me zoom zoom factor and while not drain my pocket for maintenance. Think thoroughly before you pull the trigger for on the 135i |
I tuned and spent a week with a 335i. I prefer the feel of the MS3 although the BMW had longer high speed legs, felt smoother, more planted. The car felt big. If you're looking for a tune, AP is where it's at and get in touch with me :) |
I just want all the shit talking, pu hating, Juan owners to take note of this faggot. Owns a juan, posts in pu section about considering trading in on a BMW 135i. Yeah, we got some ruhtards, but so do you niggas. Get off your high horse. http://ct.fra.bz/ol/fz/sw/i55/5/4/17...DNT-f88c28.jpg http://i.imgflip.com/8tu9.jpg |

I guess I'd have that opinion too if I blocked out shit and tried to play ignorant. |
lol no one has answered OPs question. idk how much it'd trade in but I can google it Between 8k and 16k depending on mileage lol need more info - 08.5? CWP? poor/average/excellent condition? mileage? Work a good deal on the 135...they're selling like sh!t right now. Also, make sure it wasn't leased in greer, sc. Post up the VIN |
Its amazing how the car influences the person, hence BMW's equate to douchebags and what an article on wired.com stated: a "prickish" vehicle. Same goes with Audi, Mercedes and Land Rover. Dont be that guy. The only good thing that comes out of Germany is VW With that, my next car would either be a BRZ (if Subaru straps a turbo on it), Genesis Coupe 3.8, Nissan 370 (if those idiots ever go DI) or a WRX. |

I came to the Mazdaspeed after owning two bmw's. Now granted they were an 03 325i and an 08 328i... so they weren't fast. But people who own bimmers always tend to have the douche factor. I didn't like it all, the community sucked due to it. Came to the speed 3 and have never been happier... won't be going back |
See thats my point....Why is that the case regarding most German vehicles? Why do a vast percentage of owners feel that they are able to portray this mentality? How did this come to be from like, way back when. However, being that I live in Las Vegas and that image is everything here, everyone owns a BMW, Audi or Mercedes and they think everyone else needs to bend over backwards for them....especially the girls. Imagine that.... |
I looked at 135is/335is and 12+ 5.0s before finally deciding to keep my speed3. I strayed away from BMW due to the high maintenance costs and lack of a LSD(really BMW? no LSD in a RWD performance vehicle?) Honestly, I would have moved into a 5.0 if it wasn't for the fact I'd be making payments (poor college student here!). |
135i/335i are fun cars... I had an E92 335i myself. Have fun with it while under warranty... If you plan to keep the car for a long time, get warranty and service package extended to 100K. Yes, you can run a JB and make great power - how it'll affect the longevity of the N54? Well that'll depend on how you run and maintain the car. Can you handle the fact it's got a lot less interior room than the MS3? Aftermarket is more expensive. The community will vary, there are $hit people regardless of the car they drive. And once out of warranty, maintenance will be quite more than the MS3 if you're not a DIY'er. If you can afford the car, go for it and have fun. |

It is a 2008, don't you own it by now? Just buy a 135i and keep the Speed3. You'll have a clown car and a minivan. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |
Should I trade with a Rad piggy sticker on it for my MS3? |
No but you should trade your Treo 755 for MS3 though! |
Why is this in the 10+ section? You better have the money to replace parts because your warranty will be voided and bmw is not anything like parts for a mazda. Great engines at first but I have driven several approaching and over 100k miles with mechanical issues. |
Drove the company car ( 335i) down to sd today.. 6 speed manual, felt more in the style of a 5 speed. 1st 2 gears and part of 3rd felt like it pulled ( specially first), other than that 4th onwards felt like shit, although it did feel like it kept high speeds better.. It wasn't fun.. It wasn't raw, didn't like the interior, everything felt electrically damped. I'd take a stock ms3 over this.. I know a tune and simple mods unleash the power in the 335i but to be honest I favored the stock pu I drove last week |
