the Ms3 is a disease....

...a disease that can only be cured with added power. Ever since , i purchased this veh. 3 weeks ago, & pre purchase, ive been infatuated with this car. I was considering the WRX but the speed3 fits my lifestyle and it had me at its smile. Every minute of my time has been spent thinking of the possibilities of more power and have even had nightmares of FP internals install failure! I hope this is just my sub conscious still thinking while i dream. All in all i see every1 else is just as pleased with their speed3 just as much as i am with mine and wouldnt trade it for another.....not even an Evo or Sti. Just waiting for next paycheck and I will be gladly donating to this forum that keeps me coming back for more.:arms:

Playaj 03-18-2013 04:05 PM

Couldn't agree more. Mine speed is still stock powerformance wise except Cobb sri. But AWD > FWD

Dark_Signal 03-18-2013 04:29 PM

I was also looking into the WRX too when i was in the market for a new car but the MS3 just won me over with it's much much better interior and over all sexyness. The WRX looks nice from the outside but that interior is pure shit. Also it only comes with only 5 forward gears and a couple grand more msrp. AWD is awesome but meh, I drive on the highway 95% of the time anyway so FWD suits me just fine right now. I love my MS3 too but eventually I'm thinking either EVO or STI. Hopefully either I land an awesome job or get promoted or something that will allow me to still keep my MS3 even after I get a EVO/STI.

Anyway, you should totally donate! It really is worth it. The $25 bucks it takes to become VIP is nothing compared to the knowledge you get here and the deals you can find in the buy/sell forum.

GL OP!

I hear you - It is a disease. I got infected while doing a bit of exhaust work.
There is no workmans comp for this, other than the nice growl of your ride...and the shameful bitch-slapping of those you just smoked in their soob's and 'owdi's and beeemers as they attempt to dismiss your 'smile'.

Am I the only one wholly unattracted to Evo's and STis? I respect them for their performance, but I could never pull up to work in one.

MazdaBoy2.3 03-18-2013 04:39 PM

i would drive an evo or sti no questions asked...but i do love my MS3, and plan on keeping it for a long time (or at least until it ZZB's on me).

blue speed 03-18-2013 05:20 PM

I love the speed

I have driven a couple of STIs before buying the speed 3 and i would take the speed 3 hands down. to me it just was not as fun to drive and not as good in the looks dept. also the STIs are way over priced! I am addicted to the speed3.

Cevaes_64 03-18-2013 05:22 PM

for the price the MS3 has NO COMPETITOR PERIOD!!!

Which one? F-bodies are horrible all-arounders. Horrible interiors, horrible handling, horrible chassis, great engine. All the modern V8s with well balanced chassis and suspensions are 4100lbs. G8, Charger, CTS, Challenger, etc.

Give me an E92 ESS Supercharged M3 over any Vortech, Whipple, or procharged 'Merican muscle car.

The only thing i dislike abut it is that it only has 2 doors... i have kids but is a awesome car

socaltouch13 03-18-2013 07:16 PM

Everyone's decision is respected, but as I said your lifestyle should also be considered. Example, on my to do list is starting a fam. later this year (Ms3 was first ;) so to afford STI or Evo was out of the question. Also, I agree their interiors are shit. I was looking into a 2010 evo x and the damn thing didn't even have an aux input, really??? But anyhow, the extra 2k a child brings on your tax refund will suffice with enough horsepower on the speed3 to leave em looking like this when you pull up on dem....

I asked which one. And from my knowledge prochargers are only made for American muscle and sport compacts, like 350Z's and Focus'. Ive never heard of a procharged M3, RS4, or C63 before. For that you need Vorstein, ESS, AWE, RennTech, MTM, STaSIS or something.

Which one?

I am with you, I respect them but not for me...I love my ms3

I will keep her 4 more years, then will replace her with v8 m3 4 door sedan or ctsv manual wagon.

Darkhelmet22 03-19-2013 08:09 PM

Base model 5.0 is 28k. That's hard to beat.

Spec 03-19-2013 08:12 PM

the Ms3 is a disease....

Get the alignment checked, soon. This piece of shit eats tires. I recommend someone who can do alignments above just "getting them in spec".

Indeed, when I see them I think "meh". If they looked much better and was built better then maybe we can talk. I still cant get around a $44,000 4cyl Mitsubishi. Thats just egregious to me. Especially when so many much better cars come within a few grand of it. Boss 302, 335i, or Evo. Neithrr of them return the favor for me, or are deserving of the "double take test".

I didn't know evo was 45,000. Wow

Where I am from, only mitsu worth buying is a Pajero.

That said as an enthusiast I love choices and respect cars. Ms3 fits my needs now :)

Well, the top-spec MR is 44k. It adds heated leather, HID, and nav, but its still just a Mitsu. I wouldnt mind if we got the FQ360 and FQ400 models for the same price.

In 2003-2009 When they were competimg against 350Zs and 3 valve Mustangs they were so much faster than them, so you could justify the price despite the looks and build quality, but now they are more expensive and slower, on top of everything else. To survive they need to be better and cheaper.

I personally miss the S200o and RX8.

I c. The fq400 is fantastic. These days the 5.0 and 302 boss are great bargains. I love my s2000. I put 165k on my 01 ap1, and replaced it in 07 with a ap2. It isn't the fastest thing in the world, but the driving experience and build quality is almost second to none.
