MS3 a Target?

I've had my 2012 MS3 for maybe two months now, and I feel like I have a target on my hatch. Every freaking GTI, SRT-4, WRX, Genesis coupe or some old POS insert here ____ from the 90's with a 4 foot wide spoiler wants to ride my ass and then try to pass.

I bought my MS3, because it's a drivers car not a stop light to stop light drag racer.

OK I'm done venting.

Anyone else get the same?

Maybe it's just the Tampa Bay area...I swear I saw a guy driving an IROC-Z with t-tops and a mullet the other day. LOL!

Seems like diesel trucks are the only ones who want to race me. I'm guessing because they expect me to be an easy-kill. They are the funniest ones to try to pull ricer flybys because when they start coming up fast you punch it and trap them in slow lane traffic.

Did it happen in the Brandon area? Seems like every time I hit the crosstown and head that way I always come across someone that wants to play.

It happens all over the place. I actually think it is the worst on Dale Mabry. The crosstown doesn't help, because it's like a drag strip especially on the top deck.

I will say at night you can test your top-end out up there with not a cop in sight

My car, even though it's tinted, dropped, has a lip and loud as fuck exhaust is still semi-sleeper status.

Cops have never once bothered me and I usually have to boost or sound-off my bov to get a racer's attention.

I used to live in Brandon and now i take the crosstown to work in S Tampa everyday and have never had anyone start anything with me. I kinda wish they did on the crosstown though. Its such an awesome road to play on.

I would say I have had more surprised people than any car I've owned. I wouldn't say they target the speed. More of racing for lane choice on my daily commute. Most of them have been luxury sedans like BMWs and Lexuses. Just had one this morning that thought he was going to outrun me down the entrance ramp getting on the highway. After he got covered in my soot he did a ricer blowby about 90 mph. Don't think a lot of people realize there is a Mazda 3 and a Mazdaspeed 3.

I can't get a race around here. All the kids know me and my car now and even a kid with an EVO IX won't run me. Only races I get are mostly Mustang GT's because they don't have a clue. Guy in an LS swapped slammed pick up thought he was hot shit Saturday night and I set him straight real quick.

I've only had a new Camaro try to mess with me so far. Only took the bait because that fucker was probably going to end up hitting me if he kept up with his shit. Flooring it up to tailgate me or cut over around me with only inches to spare, then repeat. Had the dog in the hatch too. Put that fuckwit in his place and he left me the fuck alone. There would have been a murder that night if he hit me and my dog was hurt.

Now in my GTI everything tried. Even had a geo tracker try and have a go.

This seems like my situation. I have gotten zero revs/attention and get people passing me all the time when I get going from lights because I am new to manual and still slow on starting. I think they are surprised as well when they see a "Mazda 3" blowing past them. I also had someone ask me the other day if the speed was a crossover lol.

Tonight I finally got a pre 2011 Mustang GT to play a bit when he blew past me after I started slow from a light. I was very surprised to find that I was at least keeping up with him when he got on it, I am bone stock and I would have thought even a 4.6L Stang would pull on me from a roll.

Coming home tonight on the LV freeway, I had some douche in an Audi 3.0 T try to blow by me, hence that didnt happen. So I exited the freeway soon after, pulled up next to an uber douche in a BMW 335i convertible, and found the same douche in the Audi right behind him. The uber douche gunned it, and I casually let him go. But so did the douche in the Audi, and blew by him again.

With that, Ive come to realize that its mostly hookers and douchebags in luxury vehicles that screw with me. But I've also come to realize that there is something mentally wrong with the majority of them too....

Move to Hawaii. I never had anyone try to race me. My car was lowered, rims, exhaust, tint, evil M etc.. No cops paid me attention and all the other racerboys either thought i was a lowered hella flush scion or they had no chance. Shit even now rolling around in my turbo'd EG I have no one wanting to play.

I've only had the Speed3 a couple weeks and I don't seam to get any attention, most likely because its white with no mod's and frankly most people don't know what it is. In my 96 Mustang GT I got a lot of attention, mainly from other Mustangs, Vette's, Camero's and the occasional BMW. But our other car the wife's 2012 Black GTI with some nice VMR wheels seams to get the attention of every other car on the road's from the most beat Honda with a chrome muffler to M3's and everything in between. Funny thing most time's the wife if its safe will take them on. Now that she's driven the speed3 she suddenly talking about getting an intake and tune. I love my wife LOL

No they didn't. Just about everyone who looks at a MS3 looks at the GTI as well. They were just trying to act like they weren't paying attention so they don't get raped because they made the wrong choice.
