I have gotten pretty much zero attention from GTIs, WRXs, and the like. In my 3 months of owning the MS3 the only person wanting a go was an Acura RSX at a stop light. Unfortunately my buddy was driving at the time, first time in the car, and stalled it as the light turned.

I get no attention at all. In my almost 3 years with this car, I've had a fucking 2 door cadillac eldorado (hilarious win), an EVO 8 (loss), v6 challenger (very satisfying win because of a smug smirk smiling mother fucker) and a turbo 8th gen civic si last week which was actually dead even 50-110 which I thought was kinda bad for the civic, I was expecting more.

That's it though.. I get attention and comments from older people for some reason.. they like the red.. I've heard that a few times.

Normally...the cars that I usually end up getting fucked with are Scions. I dont know what it is about those guys but it always happens. I see a shit ton of gti's around me and those guys will hardly ever try to play. As for STi's and WRX's...I rarely come across those guys, and if I do they are normally much much older guys who probably think I'm not worth wasting gas on lol. But as long as the cops dont bother me...thats all I care about.

Not much here where I am, I stay way out of trouble. Most people don't know the difference between the 3 and Speed 3- only a select few. The 2 cars I surprised are a new Range Rover 70-110 pull (The guy was right on my tail). He took a long look at my car afterwards when I got off at the next exit. And blew away a turbo Kia Optima- the guy lives in my neighborhood. Any supposedly "faster" cars- Camaro, WRX, STI, Mustang GT's and 2011 up with V6's , I stay away from, not worth the time, they are most likely faster- if they know how to drive.

I get rev'd at and people trying to play all the damn time. Dale Mabry is absolutely the worst. I was on 54 heading to 56 when a Kia Forte tried playing with me...I mean, really? I've had a regular Mazda 3 try me too.

Civics are the ones that try me the most. I guess having the FYHN sticker on the back doesn't help :p

If people rev at me when at a light, I just tap the gas and let the bpv do the talking for me.

I have an 09 ms3 reworked with a big turbo and all the other tasteful mods..I use my car as my DD mostly because my commute is only 3 miles, but i do heavily track the car..Its funny I dont try to race anybody and dont get messed with that often...Either people dont know what the car is or they know exactly what it is and capable of...But the one time I remember best was on the 101 north where i live in Cali with my wife and some dipshit in a lowered regular 3 with a coffee can exhaust and his girlfriend, keep edging up to me reving his piece of shit...This went on for about 10 minutes and it was driving me nuts...Finally even my wife who does not like any kind of street racing looks over to me and says "just beat this asshole please" well i got the green light from the ol lady,down shifted an ran my car to about 120... Bye bye regular shitbox 3, he stayed about 100 yards back after that till i got off at my exit....I love my mazda

When I first got my MS3 every ricer on my way to work wanted to race and I made it about three days before I said screw it and decided to see what the MS3 could do. For the most part the only cars that want to play are luxury cars and ricers. The first road trip I went on I had to deal with a guy on a custom bike that kept slowing down and speeding up when ever I had an opening to pass. I finally had enough and just floored it. He kept up with me 75 to 95 at which point I got in front of him and started to put a little distance between us. Around 105 or so he either gave up or couldn't keep up and by the time I hit 125 he was a small speck in the rear view. I also had a mid 90s Tahoe trying to bully me around last night on my drive home. guy was right on my ass doing 70 and he decided to try and pass me. I played with him, gave it a little gas to keep along side him so he was stuck in slower traffic. I thought he was done but a few minutes later when I slowed back down as I was getting closer to my exit he came flying up on me again. Guess he won that one.

Anyway, I had a similar post on a non-important forum when I first got the car. It's all in your head you think some gti, ricer Honda, jealous 2.5 mazda wants to race you. Just because they pass you or cut you off? Nah they're just jack-hole drivers... When someone wants to roll race you'll know. And side note: you don't always have to bite with great power comes great responsibility....

Yeah, I've been in multiple races in the 3 years that I owned the car - however those are just because the other person was already speeding and when I lined up, they went for it.

MS3 is as much of a target as SRt-4s, WRXs, SS cobalts, etc. Pretty much all of these cars that started their life in a standard form and were "spiced" up one way or another are bought by performance enthusiast who don't simply want to be another face in the crowd.

Having said that, I race pretty much everything. I've raced a camry and a C6 Z06 and everything in between. I'll challenge other drivers unless they do it first. If they take the bait, then we're off. If not then oh well...

I win some and I lose some, but it's all fun. Most favorite kills are the ones where people have no idea what the car is capable of. But those are getting rare since these cars have been out there for a while now and most people know about them.

Only legitimate try at a race I've ever gotten was from a new bmw 135i (still had the stickers on it). Boy did I make him feel bad about his purchase. Other than that though its only annoying people trying to get ahead of me in traffic, and then when I happen to get by them because I'm in a better lane it's so hilarious to watch them in my rearview mirror frantically try to get around the traffic so that they can get ahead of me again. I just don't get it.

I rarely ever have anybody try to play either. Its kind of disappointing, but I didn't buy the car to race everyone. If someone wants to race, I'll let them have it (depending on the car) but normally everyone just looks (maybe they just know not to mess with the ms3) I have had a couple good pulls with a few skittles, (they all have lost) and (couple of gti to). Occasionally I will mess around with a friend and his 350z (he used to be able to keep up) - now he is going to buy a penpu soon- so at least thats a plus.

Im surprised I don't get fucked with more often. I have a red genpu rims/drop/tint/hids and still never get people to try and fuck around. I think in the 2 years ive own this car ive had 2 random races. 1 was a 1.8 gti.....(yea i know sad) had a fmic and exhaust that i could tell and he got destroyed. Then after a car show there was a stock GTO(with mufflers) 6.0 rolling with his girl and i was with my buddy and he kept flying pass us on the way home. Finally i rolled up and he was down for the cause. 40-110+ Pulled about 2+cars and he gave me the thumbs up.

I've driven his F once, the power was there.
I wasn't able to go WOT though because of traffic.

Did the change actually make contact with your car? If that was me and he hit my car I honestly don't know what I would have done. I'm a pretty peaceful/non-violent person, but something like that probably would put me over the edge. I keep a pair of bamboo bo-sticks under my driver seat in case anything ever happens, lol.

Yup, it made contact with the car i am the same way i am usually peaceful. it did put be over the edge that is why i decided a few hundred yards later to whip the car around and find him. I got on the road he took and i had ten miles until my exit to find him and make my point. He never even saw me coming until i hit his car. Thats four dollars worth of quarters i will never get back, but probably the best change i ever spent returning the favor to him plus a full gatorade bottle and something else heavy i forget what it was that made contact with his car. dickkk

People in Staten Island have the gheys. Not a lot of people even know what a speed is around here. I've ran into several cars that wanted to play tho.

1. A mustang v6.. they need to stop thinking they're fast. Pulled on him from a roll.
2. Heavily modded gen5 GTI. Dude had an upgraded turbo/full bolt on. Loss from a roll.
3. Modded maxima... yeah. Just pure win.

Other then that islanders are into that G35, Maxima, luxury crap.
