Point #7 , Mazda has been making cars more than 30 years longer than Honda or Toyota. Fact. Also, Honda's "vision" of high performance (VTEC) was directly aimed at turbocharged cars. So thank Mazda for keeping the rotary and engines like the DISI turbo alive.

Point #8 . A BONE STOCK Mazdaspeed3 can run the Nurburgring in about 8.4 minutes. To put that in perspective, the 9th fastest production car in the world at any cost on the Nurburgring is the Corvette ZR-1 with a 7.19 I believe. Evos and STIs stock fall in the 8 flat range. That V6 Mustang you mention has no chance whatsoever of breaking 10 minutes on the Nurburgring. In fact, the MS3 is the only car under $35k new that can run the Nurburgring in 8.5 minutes or less. Now the Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca does very well there but its a $50k Mustange. If you don't know what the nurburgring is well then just stop reading now.
The cobalt SS did it in 8:22 back in the day 2008?. I would be very interested to see the times on a 2013 v6 mustang track pack Nur lap time. I bet it would be damn close if not a lil faster. http://www.autoguide.com/manufacture...eview-961.html

Comparo Ford v6 to MS3

Looks to me mustang has the edge. Plus being RWD.

Ok? Those are selling numbers for 2 models(trucks). Just show where 1/2 the population of the US wont buy imports? The best selling cars not trucks are not domestics.
Not many other countries sell alot of trucks due to gasoline and diesel prices. Cars however are still sold so I dnt see how your argument of how many other countries have trucks as their best selling vehicle is even valid.

Don't believe me, or want to know where your piece of crap Scion lands on the most demanding race track in the world, go see for yourself:
List of Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And like GODSpeed7 said, people on these forums have their facts straight before opening their yappers.
Ive yet to see that.

Ive yet to see that.
Actually Ford owned only 15% of Mazda and that stake was disbursed prior to the stock market collapse of 2008. There are Ford markings all over our beloved Mazdaspeeds and we all know this and don't consider it a bad thing.

Ford went on to continue to make world class products under high duress, while GM and Chrysler would have gone bankrupt were it not for the American taxpayer (which I, going out far on a limb would guess, you are not one).

And the Cobalt SS is a very fast, well rounded, car, in the same praiseworthy list of vehicles that can complete the Nurburgring in under 9 minutes. John Heinreichy personally helped design and tune that car's suspension and brakes. Of course the answers from this forum would be biased between two such equally matched cars, but not one of us would be caught dead in a Cobalt SS.

You don't see any Mustangs or Camaros listed on the Nurburgring track times because a car must be balanced to perform well there. I forget exactly but there are something like 80 turns in one lap?... Its no secret that Mustangs and Camaros don't turn or stop very well. Yes they do ok, but apparently not as well as the cars listed in the 7 and 8 minute club.

I think you are missing the point of the original post. The context was to explain why there are so few MS3s out on the road and my list gave many potential, and intriguing, possible reasons why our beloved cars never became very popular yet are beloved by almost all who own one.

Tune: My own (based on the v210 and v231 Cobb OTS maps but ramped way up)

Street creds:
- Fastest known K04/93 MS3/driver with only an AP, CDFP upgrade, intake, and tune | 13.37@106.83mph on stock Dunlops (2.04 sec 60' time, full curb weight, 75*F ambient temp)
- Has gone an indicated 146mph on three occasions now.

Yes I will help you tune your K04/pump gas car; I have much less experience than the major players but I also charge you $0 and can turn you around quickly. 4 satisfied customers and counting...

I do pay taxes actually. How else could I own a MS3 daily and a evo weekend car? Lol The Zl1 and the gt500 even the regular 5.0 are great handling cars. Actually I remember the 5.0 out handling the BMW M3?
My respect for Ford changed when they did not take a bailout. That took balls. I see lots of Speed 3's could be a regional thing I suppose? Never said I dont like the 3. I just hate when people act as if they are the best thing around.

Also posted a review. MS3 an V6 stanger.

Chalk it up to marketing. Magazine reviews only net so many readers.

As for the cobalt ss Turbo, still kicking myself to this day for not buying the left over instead if my old lancer in 2009. It doesn't get love because of the badge, which is too bad

Cobalt SS/TC is a beast when modded and also handles very well. Only downer is that the interior is shit and cheap.

If people rev at me when at a light, I just tap the gas and let the bpv do the talking for me.
Were you the black gen one that was revving next to me last Friday on US41 ?

Nope, I don't rev at people, I don't drive a Honda :p

If I wanted to get your attention, I'd honk the horn or something.
