Ouch, I had flying piece of drywall hit my car in the same exact spot causing a large dent. I brought it to a good body shop, set me back 375 bucks to pull out the dent and re-paint & clear coat the rear quarter. Still under the 500 deductible, so no claim.

Ok, I live in a different state (possibly different laws). BUT, you should be able to take it wherever you want for repairs. If you pick the most expensive place in town, his insurance may not agree with the estimate. Most insurance companies will have on staff estimators who can give a good estimate of what it should cost to fix the damage.

Ask for a written estimate, take it to your preferred body shop and ask them if they will fix it for that. If they say they can't fix it for that, tell them you want them to do the work and ask them to call the adjuster. If they want your biz, they'll do it.

So i got a ccall yesterday from the insurance telling me that they were accepting 100% of the claim they set me up with an enterprise rental amd asked me where i wanted to go i said gerber they said no problem about an hour later i took the car in to gerber the guy there was cool he asked me if there were any other little dings anywere i said there was one on the hood and he said he would make sure to buff it out too and figure out how to include it in the job.... I got a little flexfuel hhr ha ha this thing sucks.... My girlfriend was like this car is slow...
