Mazdaspeed STI
 

So I was driving today and an Mazda STI flew by me...oh wait a second. It was a Mazdaspeed3 that sounded EXACTLY like a subbie.

I haven't heard many Speed3 exhaust videos, but is this usually what our exhaust sounds like?

I absolutely LOVE the sound of the WRX/STI motor so if our motor sounds similar to this, I'm going to have to open this bad boy up

and btw a mazdaspeed3 dosnt sounds like a subbie regardless of the mods. It sounds like a mazdaspeed3.

Buy a boxer and get an UEL header if you want the sti sound.

Our motors don't sound like a boxer motor, but with a tbe they do have a nice rumble. It's the mazdaspeed rumble I call it lol.

In my opinion they do sound similar. I here both sube's and speed's burble past my work place a lot.

A Mazdaspeed can should pretty similar to a Subie with a log mani.... In fact my car with a steedspeed mani on it has sounded somewhat like a Subie since I put it on

I also think they have similar qualities...

unequal length exhaust manifold runners causes that characteristic sound. A downpipe and exhaust just makes it more pronounced.

Youtube the hks exhaust on a genwon. There's a few others iirc. When I was looking at exhaust systems I found out that those sounds similar.

I HATE MY HKS EXHAUST.

I got Cp-e downpipe, corksport CBE and that sounds exactly, even better then a subie....as far as I think....

It's not exactly the same sound as the STI but I have Corksport's catted DP and CBE and to me it's pretty similar sounding when keeping the RPMs low while going through the gears in town.

I enjoy the sound from 4-5k at WOT much more though.

The CS CB for the gen won gives the car that subie sound. It will be the CB I get if I can ever bring myself to pay $450 for sound, probably never happen.

One of the reasons I decided to a CBE and test pipe was because the Speed3 sounds really similar to Subies. Looooove the exhaust noises these 2.3 turbo motors make.

I love how on your WOT fly by, by the time your brother pans the camera around, you're already out of sight. lol But yea, that subie sound is hard to beat. It's all about people's preferences. I personally like both. I could go both ways....? :smileysex5:

Definitely looks like a fun time! Makes me want a downpipe that much more to add to my UR CBE and Test pipe. I did just order an AP, so maybe a down pipe is in my near future :)

i have the turbo xs dp+rp with hks cbe and it sounds very close...

I have a catless eGay DP and GReddy TBE and my car sounds like sex. Better than a Subbie.
