Mazdaspeed3 Coupe!!!!!!
 

Hey Guys, sorry to get your hopes up (and I also don't know if this is the correct place to post this), but I recently photoshopped an image of what I think a Mazdaspeed3 Coupe would look like - if they made one [based on the current gen]. This is my third Mazdaspeed3 Coupe photoshop. I did one a year ago of a 1st gen, another back in September of a 2nd gen and now this one.

I tweeted to Mazda of North America the last two images and they responded to both - here is the most recent response and image sent. Enjoy :) Btw, I have owned both gen Speed3's and currently enjoying the shit out of my '12 CWP (w/ tech).

yea i dont want my car looking like a veloster, them things are fugly, but how about they git rid of those fucking pokadot seats and shit and just put in some regular leather heated seats ? with lumbar support

Lol it always makes me laugh that GM trucks have oil pressure, water temp, battery volts, etc., but the speed3 doesnt.

I like it, but it takes away most of the practical side of the Speed 3. IMO, the practical, nonchalant aspect of the MS3 is what makes it the best car in the category.

Well AWD might be too much to ask for. I would settle for a Sun roof of some sort. Wouldn't be enough to make me trade in my current ride though

If you have Mazda's ear... talk them into a RWD speed3 coupe/sedan.

Nice chop and that smile has definitely grown on me.

Amazing work with the photoshop still ugly as hell. If you want a 2dr coupe get the Cobalt SS TC it's a better performing car in all aspects. The cheap Chevy interior on the other hand, meh

Nice photoshop. I like it. The smile definitely grew on me. I had a '10 MZ3. While i would love to see AWD, I think what makes the MS3 what it is in the market is the 4 door and hatch - yet crazy power to the front wheels. The "street-bench racing" section is filled with people reporting being much faster than a lot of other cars (on the highway). That is the where the FWD shines. An AWD MS3 would suffer the drivetrain loss that my '12 WRX does while rolling. From a dig it would be badass though (although, IMO, the MS6 didn't stay around long enough).

That depends on which side you're pissing on.

Looks pretty good IMO. Don't think I would buy a 3 door hatch to be my only car ever again though. 5 door hatch backs are just so much more convenient. I just don't see myself having to fold down a front seat to let someone sit in the back all the time. Now a 3 door hatch as a fun second car... i'd be down for that.

Like I said before if Mazda ever came out with an AWD MS3 or a Gen2 MS6 in a hatch body style, it would instantly be my next car no problem. No matter how many doors it has.

Hmmm. Lets see. as far as the coupe goes. ehhh, looks nice. wouldn't trade my 08 in for it though. Kinda bought my speed because of the 4 doors. Would like to see awd if anything, more gauges, sunroof, wider wheel wells, and revised front grill. SAY WORD!!!

Non-restrictive angles in the downpipe.
High flow cats from the factory.
100 more horsepower with a better suspension.
Better calipers.

And uh.... nice photoshop job. And kudos on an actual response.

I wonder how many people would have actually bought an MS3 with the weight and price penalties that come with AWD. An AWD MS3 would be north of $30k.

That is, of course, unless we are pretending that further upgraded suspensions, AWD, better brakes, and 100 additional HP wouldn't cost a dime more.

Main reason I didn't even look into STI's was because of the high price tag. Im ok buying a brand new car for 22k and putting a couple grand into it for upgrades. makes it more fun.

Buying a 3k Subaru leaves me no cash in my pocket each month for modifications.

That said, there's no way Mazda could make AWD Speed3 for under 30k.

Im very happy getting a FWD car for 22k with 265 hp. They just need to give it a bit more zoom zoom from the factory to sway more Subaru buyers.

Couldn't agree more here. AWD would make the speed just that much more impressive.

I love the speed as a sedan because I have a daughter so it makes life simple. But having the option of a coupe would be sweet.

What about adding those to the 5 door version?
The 2015 Focus RS will be a 2.3T (Duratec 2.3/Mazda L3-VDT?) with 330bhp and will come as a 5 door hatchback.
The Mazdaspeed3 is also a hatchback so having only 2 doors to access 4 seats kind of defeats the purpose of being a compact hatchback.

leave mazdaspeed3 as it, a nice 5 door sleeper. It makes more sense to add a 2.3 DISI T (or a 2.0T) to the MX5 if you want more fun and less doors.

AWD would make it significantly heavier as well, only easier to drive in very slippery conditions where the current version already does a very good job. I got stuck only once when the front wheels remained in suspension in deep snow and that could have happened with an AWD as well (even though I managed to get out of there after 10 minutes without even getting off of the car).
As for a sedan, the hatchback trunk is indeed smaller but if you remove some of the trunk floor stuff (not even the trunk cover) you actually get a trunk of the same volume as a sedan but with a higher load capacity thanks to the wider opening.

Great work on the Photoshop. Myself I like the 4 doors. But if I didn't have take kids to school duty it would work.

I second, third and fourth the water and oil gauge feature.

I like my 4 doors as well. I'd like to see stronger RMM from the factory. Thats a couple hundred bucks we could be saving right away
