Just did my first oil change on my brand new ride that I bought a month or so ago.

Hardest part, raising the MOFO.

Yea that's looks like of dangerous leaving it on the "ramp" I would defiantly drive all the way up. Also, even tho its being supported, I would never support my car with a jack, get yourself some jack stands if you don't already.

I used ramps too, had to move the plastic lip on the bottom of the bumper out of the way of the ramps no big deal, used Rotella T-6 and a Bosh oil filter easy as pie, and yes I pulled all the way up on the ramp....pussy.

Get yourself some jack stands. That is very dangerous with what you did.


Also, if getting your car in the air is "the hard part", I hope you are not planning on doing any modding by yourself.

Thanks for your concerns. But why is it dangerous ? I have the Ramps and also the jack holding the car up. So if one fails I have the other. Of course jack stands are good to,use. But I could get enough clearance to use. I normally use jack and also place jack stands under car for back up purposes.

Funny you say this. I really considered R6 however was worried about warranty issues. Inmsummer I will defo be using 5-40 rotella.

Its dangerous because the ramps support both sides of the car, if they popped out from under the wheels your mild jack in the center of the car would be under a lot of pressure as well the car would fall to one side and the jack would fail and probly pop out too, meaning death not injury.

I'm a big guy and I can get underneath with just jack stands. I have to support all 4 corners and jack it a little bit higher for me to fit comfortably underneath. It is a hell of a lot safer than what you are doing. If the wheels were up onto the flat spot of the ramps then that is ok. Given other proper safety precautions are taken.


I was told it is better to go overboard on safety then to skip out on it, cause all it takes is one time or one mistake to change or end your life.

Dude you don't need jacks with these ramps, mine are rated to 10k pounds, I used them to change oil on my truck, they are however not designed to park on the ramp portion, the end is designed to have downward pressure on them. No biggey just don't do it again there super douche.

you lucky bro. Did you at least have wheel chocks under your back wheels or is that asking to much?? if your e-brake slipped you would have slid off the ramps and the car could of started to tip over if not balanced in the center with you jack.

Also, our cars take 5.5 qts of oil.

Yes Bruv I had wheel chocks under the back wheels. Second bottle was a 1 quart. I used around 65 percent of it. Off camera somnomimages.
