Meth questions and more (im a noob) So I'm fairly new to the ms3 scene, switched over from a awe built 2000 s4. I own a 2013 ms3 with cpe top mount, hpfp, CORKSPORT Stage III Power Series Cold Air Intake with 3" TIP, denzo one step colder plugs, and soon to have a cnt racing catted DP installed. Justin@freektune is currently tuning my car for the mods i have. I'm very new to methanol injection and am unsure on what I should be buying or if it is even worth the money at this point in the build. I plan on going with the freektune gtx2867 turbo kit and keeping the block stock. Would I be better of with a bnr3/4 build to keep power levels safe for the block? Sorry this is a lot, but I know you are all better at this than i will ever be just looking at some help :D Thanks! |
Here read up on this http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...n-info-176351/ |
Depends on your goals. The GTX2967 can push the limits of the stock block without any help, but Meth can be a safety net. Keeps everything cooler and detonation free. I prefer Meth, but if you have easy access to E, it can almost provide the same protection from your gas tank |

Tune to the limit of pump gas before knock then add meth and not tune for it. Just spray for safety. Keep things cool and clean. I dont have meth but I think that's what sheston is sayin |

I have two tunes from Justin. Pump gas and a in tank meth tune. The in tank tune has me at limit of stock injectors and is lots of fun. |
Yes, Meth can be added for protection or more power. A couple gallons in each tank (tuned for) and I think I could increase timing past peak without knock. I spray to keep temps down and added fuel :-) |
Looks good boys, I never realized adding meth to your 93 or what ever you use was an option. Thanks for the support :D! |
I've been doing more research and people are running the PTE Precision turbo kits on stock motors making an ez 400whp, but it seems like over kill to me to buy a bigger turbo and not tune it to its potential. |
