might be pulling the trigger on an 11' w/o tech Hi all, Thinking about trading in my 2010 focus for speed 3. Dealer gave me a deal of $22140+TTL with S-plan on a non-tech That evened out to be $321/72 mo w/$3k down or if i leased... $301 with nothing down for 15k/yr Right now insurance is looking to be a hold up. Also I was also kind of hoping to hold off and pray there are better rebates come summer. A lot of auto companies have better incentives in July. Right now my only rebate was a $1k conquest rebates from the dealer. Look forward to reading up on the car on here. So far this is by far the best mix of practicality speed and fuel economy I have found out there. |
u need to pull the trigger on some donation action w or w/o tech |
Why no tech? |
It's more money and stuff I don't really have to have in a vehicle. The only feature I would want with the tech package is the bose stereo and maybe the auto headlamps. |
got my 11 non tech for 21650 +ttl... you can do better than that. I didn't get that price till i donated though. |
Yeah that's about the worst price I've seen... you sure it's s-plan? Look up the invoice price, email every Mazda stealership within 100mi of you with an offer at or below invoice, and whichever one comes lowest is the winner. It's not difficult Also - absolutely do NOT finance a car for more than 60 months. You'll be upside down on it for at least 2-3 years, ,meaning you'll owe more than it's worth. That's bad. If you can't afford the payments at a 60 month or less plan, you can't afford the car. Save up for awhile. |

You should be able to get it cheaper. I got my non-tech 2011 for 20.5k + tax tag etc.. |
i got my non-tech for 21.3k with splan. i see you are in detroit, i bought mine down in cincinnati so maybe you can email my sales guy and get some leverage. if they won't budge its less than a hundred in gas. PM me if you want his contact info. as far as insurance, i am 24 with a clean record and geico, who i had since i got out of school, wanted 900/6mos. wound up with progressive at like 630/6mos. most other places i shopped were around there but progressive gave me a one time $50 discount for esigning all my documents. AND as far as financing, you need to figure out if you are eligible to join a credit union. i am way too hammered and lazy to do the math to figure out what your quoted interest rate is, but i got 3.24% from my CU from college, being just outside of tier 1 credit. (side note: buying a house is a good way to get your credit prison-fucked for the first year. all the inquiries and debt count AGAINST your score, but until you make a year's worth of payments, the good payment history cant count FOR your score.) |
either way you look at it, you're fucked.. they are not giving you a good price for one (got my 11' non tech 20.7K)..and they are going to steal that focus off your hands ... I can only think of one positive (if wherever you live does the tax exemption) and thats not paying taxes on the portion of value of your trade.. |
Your looking at less then a grand difference to what could be a better deal without taking into account if you go somewhere else and have to drive. If your happy with the price and payment, don't wait and do it, if your a penny pincher then odds are you can't afford the car so save up or find something cheaper like a used 2010. |
I can afford the car just fine although I do consider myself tight with my money. Currently Mazda finances at 3.49% for 48,60, or 72 months so it makes little difference in the short term. Typically the longer you finance the higher your rate (obviously) I am 22, Progressive quoted me $215/mo and most were higher. Perfect driving record and 6yrs of steady insurance in my name so that's the hardest part to swallow is giving up that much money to an insurance company. If I work out a deal this week I will be sure to donate. Thanks for the help guys. Reading up on the car from all of you has been fun and makes me want the car that much more |
3.49% is fantastic but good luck getting it if your credit score is below 750 or so. I seriously doubt a 22 year old will be able to get tier 1 credit. If you do get it and insist on financing a car for 6 years, at least put a few grand down on it so you're not upside down. One thing is for sure - the MS3 is the best fucking car you can get for 22k, bar none. |
Doesn't the tech package come with HIDs as well? |
