Modify battery box for 3.5 intake

When I installed my BNR S3 and JBR tru 3.5" intake, I stuck my ECU to the fuse box cover. I didn't really like the look of it, and the intake was pushing on the stock battery box. I just recently purchased a used JBR battery box. My original battery is on its way out so I replaced it with a 51r yellowtop. I installed yesterday, but honestly didn't like the exposed look of it. The wires for the ECU were now touching the intake. It's a quality piece and most will probably like the quick/easy solution. Today after class I measured a few things out, test fit some stuff, hacked away at the OEM battery box, and came up with whats in the pics. The cuts on the side allow easy access/fitment to the harness clips. I want to make a front cover for it that will accommodate all the wires, but look a little cleaner. I will also probably fab up a new tie down piece that fits the 51r better. Battery doesn't move, but might as well make one. Some will not like this approach, but I like it better than the exposed look, its cheap, and it fits the 3.5 intake without anything touching. I thought about a Corksport box, but it will not accommodate the JBR 3.5 intake...

With a front cover i would deff do this as that was always my issue that i liked the clean look vs ecu on fuse cover.

I find this to be a good option to keep things looking as stock as possible. Post some pics when you get the front cover done.

I did the same thing a while back. Definitely much better looking that having the ECU on the fuse box IMO.

Exactly. Looks good. Neat to see how people do the same thing different ways.
