Moving on from my MS3 First off I would like to thank this forum and you guys and girls for all the help over the 1.5 years of owning the car. It was and still is a great car and tons of fun and I never lost an autox or slalom in this car so I will miss it but I just felt like I needed to move on. I have purchased me a new Corvette so I will be selling all my mods from the MS3 and the original wheels which I still have. I am gonna stick around the forum and keep in touch as I have made some good friends on here and I still really like the car so no need to leave here. Thanks again to everyone  |
Congrats on the new Vette. Post up some pics of it. |
Very nice. Please share the pics of the Vette and give us some detail on the deal? I'm very curious to know. |
Well actually the Vette is a 2008, Crystal Red, 3LT package, HUD, Z51 Performance Package, 2-Tone leather and a Coupe so the car is fully locked and loaded with 436HP stock. I just picked it up Monday and love this car. |
congrats. you need to change your user name. |

Congrats on the Vette.......................I like em too. |
Awesome car! You'll love it. Don't be surprised at 30mpg on the highway in that beast. I'm actually selling my speed next week for a 2010 camaro ss. I traded from a GTO for this car and I just miss my v8 muscle. |

I miss my V8 also but tuing this car was a blast. I was looking at ordering a 12 STI also but went for the muscle. For anybody interested in parts, PM me as I haven't had a chance yet to take pics or make adds so it is easier to talk private. All exhaust stuff is gone. Thanks everyone and as soon as I can find some time I will get some pics of the Vette, maybe this weekend as well as the rest of the stuff I am selling. |
as soon as I post 4 more times I will be able to send you a PM |

American built v8's have always been and will always be the fastest engines (outside of get powered). Whether you personally like them or not is irrelevant; the times drag cars put out speak for themselves. http://image.dieselpowermag.com/f/91...ic_mcbride.jpg If there was a caption for this picture it would read "Not powered by a 13B". When a mazda powered RX-7 puts down a 4 second 1/4 mile, you can say whatever the fuck you want to me. |

Edit: I'm not talking about any of the new model camaros or gt's, or challengers I've never raced them, but the only mustang I have lost to was a termi cobra, which was obvious anyways. Id need big turbo potential to even touch those, so I'm not being ignorant, I'm being cocky. |

I'll agree, you are being cocky. No offense. But I'm try to remain unbiased. Rx7 is fast. Mazdaspeeds are fast, but at the end of the day the v8's are still king. That's all I'm saying. |

Congrats, save yur cash, you will need it for tires in 6 months... lol |
Yeah don't be pussy like 99% of vette owners. You know there is a problem when like 60% of them are driven by women. Women who might have driven stick (non-sexually) at one other point in their life. Let's have a little real life scenario here> me vs said woman in 2012 Vette 6-sp in a classic 1/4 mile Heads Up race. - fast forward through the whole failed burnout and blasting straight through the pre-stage and stage lights... My small burnout felt good, both wheels spinning, no wheel hop, good so far. My increased LC is holding steady at an indicated 3,500 rpms on the tach. Will the Dunlops hold races through my mind. yellow yellow yellow (me go) green (she sits for 1.5 seconds then idle launches it). As soon as I felt that slight bog I knew I was hooking, ok that's half the challenge, the other half is alway getting this fucker into third gear reliably lol, drive out 1st, bang 2nd, drive out 2nd (to a whopping 51mph), bang 3rd, a second later hitting the 0-60 in 5.1 seconds just fyi somewhere near the top of 3rd gear I look to see the Vette almost next to my door BUT, her 1st gear is done and now she needs to shift fuck. So little blondie or white trash whatever figures out straight back = 2 and nails it, just about 3 seconds too slow. Meanwhile I'm well into 4th running the MS3 out through the traps in 4th thinking the whole time (is now the time I try shifting to 5th to see that help?) Vette mus've gotten into third and finally goes roaring by. Timeslips indicate a 13.4@105 for me and a 15.7@116 for her. Said lady practiced all year and never got better because racecar is in blood. She did manage to get into 3 Corvette Clubs and some nationwide registry, and she did modify her car putting on ugly ass Foos wheels just because she liked the name. As far as "most powerful engine?" That's a question open to much interpretation. For me it would mean, per liter. Anyone can build an engine the size of mt Everest and it would surely make more the 263hp@5,500rpms. For me, what can you get out of a liter. Now, my memory is very hazy for a multitude of reasons but I can remember when F1 cars were turbocharged V10s I think AND ran the pneumatic valvetrain. I can't imagine anything making more power than that. Those cars were what like 2.25 liters or something, revved to 18,000, boosted to like 40psi, and made like 800hp all corked up. Those things could easily create 400hp/liter I would imagine. But F1 and IndyCar Izod seem to be always changing so I dunno. |
To fortress's last comment, the 80's f1 cars were crazy before the fia got all regulatory. The BMW m12 4 banger (1500 cc) made close to 1500 hp when they cranked the boost for qualifying. |
I traded my 2009 Z51 Vette for my BMW, I miss the Vette. Ill be trading the BMW for a C6 Z06 and using the Speed3 for my daily. |

No, I'm saying that Corvette is one of "those kinds of cars" where 90% of the people that own them/drive them either have no idea how to drive a fast car or fast or are too wimpy to actually really rip on it. A Corvette on a road race, dragstrip, or hell even an autoX is where it needs to be, not going 5mph over the limit in the left lane while Toyota Pri'i go flying by. |
