My First Encounter Just figured i would share my ever so dissapointing experience. I was taking my buddy for a little spin in my 2010 MS3 saturday night. I have only had this car for a week today. So we were cruising down ritchey highway here in maryland and a 2004 or so WRX rolls up on me. Does a little pull and blows off. So I say fuck it. I pull up next to him we both gear down this was a 40 roll. He honked off and I only stayed door to door with him maybe for 1-2 seconds at most. His Turbo was screaming like a soccer mom at a game and he had an exhaust. That was a 40-80 he had me by 3-4 cars. So I say ill try more up top hopefully with his AWD I can keep up at higher speeds. So we do a 60 Roll....Same shit. Finally we get to a redlight and I say Nice Rex man that thing screams. He says Yeah FMIC/Intake/TBE bigger injectors tune and a t3t4 turbo upgrade......I was like no wonder. he said what do you have done to your mazda I said NADT tune...He said is that some kind of mazda factory shop I said No it means Not A Damn Thing Im as stock as a rock. He laughed and pulled off. gave me thumbs up though which I thought was respectfull......So when I drove him I was laying in bed and said ok Corksport SRI TIP Cobb AP and AutoTech Internals are on my list. Then went to bed The End. Sorry cant say Dissapointing considering I was stock and was was modded quite moderately. |

A dp might cause a spike on a stock tune especially if it does not have a cat, so maybe the subject of creep / spike was mixed up a bit. You can buy a nice metal substrate catted dp if you live in an area that would really crack down on a catless car. |

The boost creep dumb shit story was from a guy I knew from Highschool who had a Gen 1 that he bought brand new. 2008 I believe. He ran a 3Inch TBE catless. And said his turbo eventually gave out on him. And not to mention I cant remember was his tuning method was. However This is my daily driver car so I will be happy with 300ish whp. So If I do go DP Im going Catted due to I dont want a CEL but I already removed the second cat. So I want to keep one cat in the system. Those mods likely aren't enough, but hey you will enjoy them. I am getting ready for a round of mods myself... as soon as I get payed:smashfreakB: I found a new STI on Saturday. Did a 40 roll and pulled on his ass. That's with just an intake and a very mild tune (no internals), so I am excited for my next mods. |
As said above if you go catless, you prolly will have some boost spikes untill you get tuned or tune it out yourself. (I did, but tuned it out with ease) Sent from StalknTalk |
