Default My intake valves on Genpu with 72k miles

30k I did both OCC and EGR delete. For the most part I have seafoamed every(every other) oil change since the EGR and OCC.

Around 20k switched from penn plat to penn ultra.

Valves have never seen daylight or cleaning prior to this.

Not half bad IMO. I was expecting way worse. These were the worst couple, a couple didnt even have the ball of gunk on the stem.

My local autozone's carry the normal Penn ultra which I used to use. I just order the Euro version off amazon.

It's too bad we don't have a gunk database. I know some oils will leave more deposits then others. Supposedly the M1 0w-40 / 5w-40 TDT doesn't leave as much buildup in DI applications.

IMO thats really not that bad for 70k miles. I have no idea how bad mine looks, but I plan on selling the car in a couple of years and it'll have 60k miles on it by then so I don't really care.

I'm probably gonna get brownie bashed for this.

Is the intake buildup really that much of a problem on these cars?
Is it a result of mods you do, or is the buildup an issue for unmodified cars?
What does Mazda have to say about it?

No still with 5-30. I tried 5-40 rotella but noticed more partial knock with no other obvious benefits so went back.

Yes, engine seems smoother at lower rpm/air speeds. Throttle response seems better too.

Recommend to EVERYONE!
