My dad drove my car once to pick it up because I had work and did not know how to reverse and ended up almost plowing through the Mazda dealership. They get scared every time my car goes into service lol |
The car was totaled by insurance in march. There was noting on the car when the insurance company took it. No intake, exhaust, motor mounts, fuel pump. I took everything I could. Only thing I did leave was the Eonon radio Quote:

Was teaching my gf how to drive the car and it blew two holes in the block while doing so.. she hasn't got behind the drivers seat since lol Was teaching a friend how to drive stick and all the coolant decided to spill out. Another friend had accidentally dropped a bolt inbetween the radiator and fan earlier that day.. Bad luck when others drive the car |

I taught my gf how to drive stick shift in the MS3. A few weeks later we went to see Monster Jam a couple hours from home. I got horribly sick from a gross sandwich earlier in the day. I threw up everywhere every 2 minutes leaving the monster truck show. It wiped me out, awful migraine. GF had to drive the Speed3 in heavy traffic, in a town she didn't know, while I was dying in the passenger seat. The only thing I could do was keep saying "Clutch in. Neutral. Turn the key. First gear. Let off clutch slow." over and over. It was an awful experience for the both of us. I wasn't any help to her with directions or driving because I was so sick. I felt bad for her :( She made it three miles from the show and decided to stay overnight at a hotel. Then she drove most of the way home the next day with no problems (mostly highway) and loved it. Now she drives a 5 spd Mazda2 daily and loves taking the Speed3 out by herself. Its hilarious hearing her stories about whomping on the gas racing people and the compliments she gets on the Speed3. She wants the Mazda2 to haul ass now. |
LOL lol i laughed at my gf when she asked to drive then she showed up the next day with her dads ZL1 Camero :P FML hahah and in case ur wondering n:bryce:o she still hasent drove my speed hahah |
Every morning I hear my dad fire up my car to move it out the driveway so he could leave for work, oh the high rpm clutch riding, i joke around with him and tell him that he's gonna be replacing my clutch at 30,000 miles. |
I recently started drag racing my speed a little...I let my wife make a few passes and now she's ready to race every week. Even talking about buying slicks and spare wheels. Lol. |
i'll let my dad drive my car any day. he's the one that taught me how to drive a stick, use a clutch on my dirtbike when i was 8, and helped me with pretty much anything mechanical growing up. Plus, he's the one that told me to buy a speed3 instead of a GTI because thats what he wanted, and now he's jealous because he drives a pontiac vibe. He has yet to drive it with the 2867r, and he said "its fucking fast" on the stock tune when he drove it more often. tried to teach my ex to drive stick on it, not because i wanted to, but because i wasn't going to hear the end of it, ever. She's into cars so she would never shut up about learning to drive it so she can get her sti.... needless to say she never quite got it, but there were no repercussions. |
I've let four people drive my car. 1st buddy: Has a stick shift Kia and has been driving stick all his life. He burnt the shit out of my clutch :( Never again. Fiance's little brother: He tried to launch it once but I yelled at him and he listened. Minor burnt smell. I've let him drive it since and he does just fine. He loooooooves boost. Once I told him the rules he did just fine. Other Buddy's female friend: I was beyond drunk and super stoned. No way was I driving anywheres. Too bad we had driven my car to get there. My buddy can't drive stick but he says his friend can. I was scared. She was FUCKING AMAZING. Never bogged, rev matched like a pro, never missed a gear. She said she loved my car and would steal it. Would let her steal it. Fiance: She drives a manual. My clutch annoyed her at 1st but she's since gotten used to it and now prefers it to her own. My only beef with her is she tends not to down shift to pass people but she's getting better. Edit: Actually, my 70 year old grandmother wanted to drive it as well. She drives a seabring, which isn't fast, but she's always telling old ladies to move over. lulz. We took it for a ride and she wanted to drive it. Then she remembered she forgot her wallet and had a drink in her so she stopped herself. Best. Grandma. Ever. |
Friend bought an old alfa and needed to learn stick so I offered my car. Never again. He didn't burn the clutch but stalling it 12 times in a row can't be good. Told him to learn in the alfa...not sure if he's taken it on the street yet. |
My wife drives the car with me in the passenger seat occasionally and only to remember how it's like. She's not giving it more than like half or 2/3 throttle which equals to like 15-17 pounds of boost, and she will never do that in gears lower than for or above 5000rpm :) When I first got the car, after like 2500 miles of owning it, I put my wife behind the wheel, told her to get up to 3000rpm in 4th and then go WOT. 50 to 80mph was too quick for her and she literally left the wheel form her hands, as well as the gear stick and the pedals and turned her face to the seat yelling she wants to get of the car. We were approaching a tight bend with 80mph so we both got even more scarred :) Since that event she was not able to drive the car for exactly one year and to shift into 5th for about 2 years and a half. Occasionally other people at the dealer drive the car for a few meters, or the chief mechanic drives it for less than a mile but always with caution and having in mind the possibility of drilling a tunnel in the traffic or buildings ahead. |
I don't really trust anyone to drive my car, it's too tempting to mash down the throttle and well lose control. I feel like you need some experience driving a faster car to be able to drive it safely. Most of my friends who want to drive it, drive slow cars and I can see them fucking it up some how. I did teach my girlfriend to drive stick with it. She said it was an easy to learn in and that she liked the tranny. I tried to teach her in an old beater a couple years before and that was a big fail. The first lesson in the speed she dumped the clutch at 4K (that was fun), but after a few more attempts she was driving it pretty well. I have a feeling her brother and dad are going to want to drive it soon and I can't really say no... the only reason I'm hesitant to give them the keys is because they've both totaled and rolled multiple cars. |

^^^^^^ Why my wife can't drive mine. |
Let my friend drive my car recently on the way to the Epic Midwest Meet while in rural areas of Michigan. She did pretty well, only stalled it twice, once she got the hang of it I told her to hold onto the wheel and floor it after about 3k rpm. This resulted in the most maniacal cackling I ever heard come out of anyone. She instantly understood the addiction and now wants one of her own. |

I'm sitting at the dealer lobby now and this just happened. I brought my car in for a 5k service (flame on, it's 97 degrees and its just convenient for me to pay tue 15 or whatever in labor), I bring my car into the bay and get out so the tech can check the lights, fill the fluids, and give me papers to sign. The tech gets in to move my car 10 feet over the alignment rack and proceeds to stall it...twice in the distance. He gets out the second time and just looks at me and says, "I'll get the other guy. I'm still used to Hondas". Damnit |

One time my dad and I were going somewhere (that escapes me at the moment), and he asked to drive. So, I went ahead and let him. 10 minutes into the drive he walked the shit out of some loud ass STi that revved at us. My dad is awesome. |
