Nav Question
 

Getting ready to purchase a 2012 MS3 and was wondering if you have to have the Nav on all the time or if you can turn the screen off. One of the sales guys that I asked didn't know. Won't buy the vehicle there.

i just got a 2010 ms3, same nav system i assume
you can change the screen to display other stuff whenever you want
it has current gas mileage, average gas mileage, radio presets
i forgot what else, i just go from nav to avg gas

your radio information for satelite/fm are dispalyed on the screen to the right of the nav, its not a full color display, red LCD

Yea you don't just turn the screen off.

I don't think that's a way to shut the thing off

ditto. There's no way turning off the nav. Believe me, I tried all.

You can either choose another setting such as radio presets or fuel econ or you can turn off the screen completely. While in NAV mode, go to preferences, it near the end of list. I dont remember the exact path but its there. Note it will reset when you start the vehicle again.
