Need Help With Mods

Hey guys,

I'm pretty new at this and I've been reading all the threads and doing a ton of research but I still need some help/opinions. I'm buying my exhaust soon and I'm pretty much decided on Corksport but here's my issue. I'm planning on doing the downpipe, race pipe, and exhaust all catless and corksport but I feel like it'll be ridiculously loud, not sure how to control that. Also I was thinking about doing corksport's axleback but then i'll have an empty space between the racepipe and exhaust so what are some solutions for that or other exhaust recommendations? Also if I do the catless downpipe, how do I get it not the throw a check engine light?

Thanks and I'm sorry if I'm posting something thats in a thread already, I've honestly searched a ton and haven't found an answer yet.

Buy a Cobb AP, buy pump internals before you do the above mentioned mods. I am being nice.

No need for the catless crap, the cats flow really well, it's the CBE that really holds back the power. Just get the corksport CBE and you'll pick up a lot. Stock intake flows well enough too, no need for an upgrade

Since you're not buying a downpipe, spend that money on an upgraded BPV. Stock ones don't even hold stock pressure well, let alone the higher boost you'll get from the CBE so you'll need that.

Don't worry about tuning, the stock tune adjusts easily to flow mods and compensates accordingly.

^ ^ lol. Oh god.

Dizzy Turbo 01-12-2013 05:05 PM

Don't forget the manual boost controller!! Then you don't need an accessport

6Y MAZDA 01-12-2013 05:08 PM

Corksport sells new piston bearings which smooth out the transition in gear shifts. I would also recommend a manual boost control also because stock limits you to about 15 and with the boost controller you can go 23psi safely! Hope this helps!

Also, just drill some holes in the stock airbox to increase air flow.

After the mass air flow sensor, dummy. How else would you trick it to increase air and not fuel.

cld12pk2go 01-12-2013 09:44 PM

MBC + Boost Cut Defender FTW.

But seriously, get an upgraded HPFP + AP + tune...then Intake/DP...

I made 415whp with the stock CBE...so don't bother any time soon on it unless you just want noise...

Yes, true!

Full trick:
Take off air filter, run threw a lightly packed dry dirt road. Stir up some real dirt the more you suck in the better the cleaning effect.

Wash out said dirt by doing the water method above.

Man I don't get these fucking kids today. I've been prowling these boards for a while now... doing more reading then posting. If you do 5 minutes worth of searching you'll learn that your first mods should be the HPFP and AP. How do people say they've searched and found nothing. COME ON!!!!

Sidenote just ordered my HPFP and AP the other day from Edge. Let the modding begin!!!

Zoomspeed 01-13-2013 01:44 PM

Learn from him^

The Nut 01-13-2013 02:24 PM

Please learn from someone! These guys will have you taking off your intake & tip altogether and tell ya to shove toilet paper in the turbo to filter the air! Please read the noobs section. That being said, I met a guy running Corksport turbo-back catless & bafflerless exhaust you described wanting. It actually sounds awesome (along with all his other mods), and at WOT is (supposedly) just under the decibel limit law.

Pharms3 01-13-2013 02:38 PM
