Need part from intake manifold The red clip piece that holds the vacuum line for the brake booster to the intake manifold...mine is broken. What is the part number or a link for that to replace it? Or should I just slap on a barb fitting and run a new vacuum line? Would prefer the first option if mazda doesn't charge $100 for the piece. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
I always thought little clips like that come with the hose. so you would need the entire hose. Ive also ran with a barb and a new hose with no issues. |
What hose did you run? I don't mind the barb fitting but my shop is pushing me to do AN and I want it as oem looking as possible. |
Just some blue silicon house. It didn't look stock, but neither did my orange manifold and valve cover. I wanna say I ran 3/8" hose. |
Couldn't find it in any parts diagrams -- it's blatantly missing in all the pics from both the line and manifold ends. I DID manage to come across this, though: http://i68.tinypic.com/2r44nwk.jpg Saab part# 55557389 $15.23 shipped from eBay: Saab 1999 2009 Intake Manifold Nipple OES 55 557 389 | eBay Looks awfully similar. Might be worth a shot. I'm thinking that black bit to the left of the red retaining ring is a male fitting to go along with the female end. |

I love you @ms6mil; |
Be very careful when installing that little bugger. It has small metal teeth that will lock the adaptor in place when pushed in. When you buy it, there will be a removable piece of plastic in the center. Keep that little plastic thing in place while installing. Once the adaptor is in place, remove the little plastic insert, and push down on the crown to lock it in place. If you push down on the crown before it is in place, the teeth will push out and you will not be able to install. I learned the hard way |
If it's just the red retaining clip that was damaged, no need to swap the entire fitting. The insert pulls out/pushes in with little fuss, so long as you've removed the hose beforehand. http://i64.tinypic.com/2zghj83.jpg |
It is at the shop getting ported when I get it home I will take a look. Thank you for your help guys |
