New here buying MS3 Monday I'm new here and I was looking into buying the ST or the MS3 and after a little research decided on the MS3 I'm getting the fully loaded one sticker price is 28,000 getting it for 26000. Is that a good deal? Sold my GTI so I'm putting 11,000 as a down payment, any tips for a noob would be great too |

If it helps, I paid 24,250 w tech. Don't get all the stuff they try to throw at you. "Special wax" "Key replacement" "Interior protection" Blah blah blah It's all half assed bull to pull more money out of you that you'll pay interest on. It cost you way more in the long run and you can get it done 3rd party for half the price if you're inclined. |
I'm not, they did offer me a kind of protection plan for 6 years that if it gets scratched or a door ding on the outside or stained inside they will fix it for free they were foong to give it to me for 1799 got it down to $499 Going* Quote:

Did you see what/if there is a deductible with that plan? I know you said free and that's how it comes off as before they're asking you for a 100$. And remember, you'll be paying interest on this, perhaps it's something you can pay cash for. |
There's no deductible I asked the only thing it doesn't cover is windows or anything electrical but the seats carpet roof anything outside that gets scratched dinged or stained they will fix it, they're pretty much going to keep it looking brand new for 6 years ohh and it doesn't cover rims or tires either |
The wheel & tire road hazard shit is a separate plan. I got my 2012 w/tech in Feb. of 2012 for $26,000 OTD. So that was under $21,000. Sticker was $27,600. |
I've had my '13 for five months. There are a couple things about it that I wish were different, but they don't make me love my car any less. It took me a while to get used to the clutch. It's not very progressive and the uptake is pretty sudden. It's still a hassle on one stretch of my commute where there's a long uphill section. The paint seems to be on the fragile side. I have several little rock chips on the front and I'm a bit surprised by that because the route I drive is well-maintained. I guess there's debris anywhere you drive, but I didn't expect to see chips until I'd had the car for a lot longer. The little hooks in the carpet that hold the floor mat in place are sketchy as hell. I know they're going to rip out any day now. I'm conscious of their condition, so I exercise more care, but I wish I didn't have to. I'm pretty much the only one in my car, so I've only seen this on the driver's side. I definitely wish they or their attachment method were more robust. I love eveything else about it. I love that they didn't jump on the LED daytime running lights bandwagon. I love that there's a proper console-mounted parking brake. I love that it's just a simple, conventional, effective six-speed. I do a 60-mile daily commute of genuine mixed driving and get a solid 27 mpg, according to the trip computer. The only mod I've done so far is the Redline Tuning hood gas struts. I love being able to lift the hood with one hand versus messing with that prop rod. It's inexpensive and easy to install. Redline Tuning Mazda3 QuickLIFT System - Lifts and holds your hood without prop rod. As with any turbo car, be sure to sit for a minute or two at engine idle before you shut down, especially after a hard or long drive. That turbo will live longer if you do. |

I got my 2013 with about 5 miles on it for 22,500 which I think is about 1500 under invoice. I was pretty happy with the deal. Continue to play hard ball and talk them down. Edit: forgot to mention- no tech package on mine. Doesn't seem worth it. You already have Bluetooth and what not with the base model |
I'm also doing a little search here on what mods seem to be better to start with but it's seems like there's a lot, I also need to look for what they are because I see a lot of abbreviations that I'm not used to, I was in the VW community for 7 years and switching to this is going to take a while getting used to but I'm sure ill have fun doing it |

PACKAGES & OPTIONS MAZDASPEED TECH PACKAGE $2,485 INTERIOR LIGHTING KIT $200 PEARL PAINT CHARGE $200 MIRROR COMP HOMELINK W/ RAIN SENSOR $275 Those are the options mine comes with, which the pearl paint charge seems to be stupid but then again that's the stealership for you the total of the car is 28,155 ohh and with the protection plan it was an additional 1799 which crought my total to almost 30k but they brought it down to 27,00 Quote:

this forum is way different then most VW forums. I my self came from a VW jetta and I was on ncdubs.org, and vwvortex, and during that time this is when the whole stance shit was coming into the euro scene way before the honda guys started doing it. You will not find many stance guys here there is a thread for stance though, on this sight it is a different breed of people. If you donate and use google to search this site then you will not have any issues, if you come and ask questions that have been mention a trillion times then you will get your couch fucked. But the biggest thing I can suggest is this donate read read read get involved with your nator chapter you will not find a better group of people. And if you are going to mod go ahead and save money up for your hpfp internals then go from there. |

I recommend telling them you qualify for Ford X-Plan pricing, and ask if they'll honor it with S-Plan pricing. They should. You'll pay invoice + tax and tags. I paid 24300 for mine w/ tech package. White was an additional 200, so if you get any other color, it would be a little cheaper. *edit* bah, then I realized that you had a picture in your avatar of your car. Ah well, welcome! |

Vehicle price 24319 Government Fees 255.20 Taxes 904.00 Doc Fee 131.00 Looking through those items, the only dealer-added cost is likely the doc fee. So figure 24500. There was no haggling involved. I just mentioned x-plan, and they gave me invoice - active incentives. |

But "out the door" implies everything I need to drive off the lot - in which case we better start tossing in insurance costs and interest over the length of the loan... and now I'm going to be sick thinking about the cost. I haven't had enough beer yet to start thinking about those numbers.:damnit1: |

After this I'm done hijacking the thread - I had 0 down and $300 for my trade-in. It was a mostly non-functioning 01 Chevy Crappalier, so I was happy to just get it out of the driveway. |
I paid 27,000 OTD and not a penny more I also got a millennium plus extended warrantee and some other warrantee crap for the engine and transmission included in the price for 6 years and that showroom warrantee that basically they'll keep my car in show room quality for 6 years any little scratch or dent they will fix it and also they now include anything that's electronic like the stereo or if I spill a drink on the window switches they will get replaced free |
How is depreciation on the newer year models? I got my 2010 used for $16,750 w/29,300 miles, cleant title/carfax. |

That is thousands less than I've seen for anything comparable around here - it was a no brainer for me to buy new after shopping the ~500 miles radius used market. Nice purchase! |
The dealership we bought from had an 11 w/ tech package intake and exhaust for 17k w/ 30k miles on it. Carfax was clean but I was worried about how it was driven based on the mods. |

Hey everyone! I'm looking at a 2013 CWP MS3 and so reading that Mazda may honor my X-Plan would be nice. I currently have a '13 Focus ST, but unfortunately it has some short comings with the torque vectoring and the lack of a LSD. My car most recently suffered a catastrophic failure of the engine and turbo which really is leaving a sour taste. When I reviewed the MS3 I realized it was basic and has been tested very hard through the Grand AM series ST class with much success. Which I like. I find it very helpful to purchase cars that are actually raced by the manufacturer. In addition the Mazda has excellent aftermarket support. Key for me is the increased leg room for the rear passengers. While that seems silly its important to me because I have a 3 y/o and when he's back there it's nice to not have to smash the passenger in front up against the dash. When I test drove one I found it to not be punchy like the focus, but rather civil. Don't get me wrong you can feel it pull, but it doesn't try lurch forward with enthusiasm. I know that's because of the active torque limiter. Still, when you turn the wheel it goes where you point it and the brakes work just like the ST. In fact they look identical. The vehicle I am considering is the very basic CWP MS3 withOUT the tech package. I'm sorry a lot of that crap is just bloat and more problems than it's worth. They should offer the Nav separately, because TomTom isn't bad and I do use the nav in my ST. Although, the MFT Sync is ok at best. Microsoft should have bought a proprietary system like those found in BMW. Far better and gives you a lot of data to have fun with while on track. Anyway, we'll see what happens with the ST and whether or not the dealer can accommodate me at Mazda. Oh, lastly someone mentioned about a turbo timer. Those are things of the past the oils today are far superior as are the turbo designs. I've had turbo cars for more than a decade and can tell you first hand have fun but take that last mile or two easy and the oil temps will come down after which you can park it and get out. No need to idle anymore as you'll just be wasting fuel. :) |
As far as the tech package, speak for yourself. Love mine! So what was the problem with you "ST"? |
My car most recently suffered a catastrophic failure of the engine and turbo which really is leaving a sour taste. Most likely burned a piston and fragged the exhaust side of the turbo. Quote:

It has 11,000 miles on it and across the forums everyone is complaining about abnormal blow-by. At least on the MS3 many of the "bugs" have been shaken out. I generally wait a year or so before buying a new model. Did that with my 05 STi and my 09 STI. Worked out great. This MS3 is the last model year for this style, so it's behooving me to buy this vs a new model that hasn't been put through its paces. Quote:
