New MS3 owner Hello all, Just picked up my new 2013 liquid silver non tech ms3. I have promised myself to leave this one alone. I am not new to turbos as I previously drove a 2004 subaru forester xt with just about every sti part bolted on including 6 speed, brakes, hubs and then put a rotated 3586... and made 494awhp on a dyno jet. I have had about a 2 year hiatus from fast cars and was driving a 97 civic so this new car feels REALLY fast in comparison. I will be lurking and hopefully refraining from asking stupid questions that result in use the search button but my first question is why are my wheels black. Ive been checking pictures of ms3's on here and most of the wheels are silver but both mine and the other one they had at the dealership had what look like painted black wheels. anyways i look forward to reading some build threads and hopefully meeting some of the locals at a meet or 2 |
Welcome. Donate, and do as you plan and read. 2013 has the black wheels stock older genpu had the silver. |
Welcome. That is what I said when I bought my 13 CWP speed. Granted the car is not crazily modded, it only took about 1 month for me to change my mind. Good luck! |
Welcome |
All 2013 should come with black wheels, that sucks. Did they sell you a 12 that was hanging around? |

after driving it for a day now I think my first mods(if any) will be more suspension(and shifting) than power. I really like the way the power comes on for now. I am a realist and realize that since this is so much faster than the civic ive been driving for 2 years that this is enough but once i get used to stock i will want more. One quick question i ask is does the AP give you other benefits other than power. I know on subarus so of them benefitted from a smoother delivery and even better fuel economy. |

My wife forbid me to mod anything on it....next thing you know I sell my bike and have a large chunk of cash just setting there.. ..I had to do something with it? |

well like I said, I am not naive enough to think I will never mod the car but for now I am really enjoy the speed and handling and especially the steering. My forester was way faster than the ms3 but this things turns unbelievably and has many more comforts that the forester didn't have. Minor changes like lighting, tint, maybe some headlight blacking out but nothing major for a while |
I said I wasnt going to mod my speed either. That sure as fuck didn't go as planned. Welcome to the fail. |
Even if you plan on keeping it stock, there are a few basic mods that make the car MUCH more enjoyable to drive. RMM and shifter bushing help iron out some of the slop in the shifts as well as reduce wheelhop and torque steer. |
welcome sir |

After modding the hell out of my 2005 Legacy GT I told myself I was going to leave this car alone. 2500 miles and I ordered an intake. Cars at 5700 and I ordered a test pipe today. |
