new mods coming in

ok so i wanted to buy a bunch of shit $3500 of shit in upgrades for my new 3 and then talked to public enemy #1 and no i still dont know how to put their names in so they know im talking about them./ but when i meet him he told me not to do a cat back and intake with turbo inlet till i get a AP and injector internals. so now i got the injector internals coming and the cobb intake with turbo inlet pipe, i PMed a member with a AP for sale and im thinking on getting the sure motor sport MM system thats all 3 in the track version. but im not 100% on the mounts yet. i also like the CP-e but not the price. is there anything else anyone can think of that i need to get before i get my race pipe and cat back so my zoom-zoom doesnt go BOOM?????:dot::feedback:

Just copy someones mod list that makes a lot of power and get a custom tune. lol

edit: with 3500 youre pretty much at full bolt ons

Maybe a shifter mod? If I had an extra $450 I would get the TMW (or what its called) shifter replacement.

Jesus...

Alright slow down for a minute.

1. What mods do you have already
2. What are your goals for your car (road racing, highway monster, autox, ect)
3. What experience/resources do you have when it comes to cars. do you have all the tools youll need to install everything, as well as the knowledge.

i restore classic cars that has a carb on it. i have every tool you can find in a mechanic shop at my disposal. i am also a diesel mechanic, i have rebuilt motors, axles, t-case, and been doing it for 8 years. i am by no means perfect and if i have a manual in front of my i can do it. for mods it is completely stock right now. but i have ordered a internal fuel mod, coob SRI and turbo inlet pipe. before i order the exhaust and motor mounts i would liek to know if there is anything else i need. i just want to get around 330 hp as a daily driver/ time to time speed demon.

You won't hit 330 whp unless you run e85 (maybe?) or get a bigger turbo. Fully bolted will put you around 290-300 whp with a custom tune.

Order the fuel pump internals, intake and TIP, rear motor mount, test pipe, downpipe, intercooler and you will be at the limits of the stock turbo.

cool i really don want to upgrade the turbo as i have a life time warranty on the car. what ever i do i want to be able to switch out to stock and bring it to the dealer if need be for them to fix it. now if i do get a bigger turbo i probable will get a better motor and internals with the bigger turbo, but i dont see that happening anytime soon. maybe when i blow the stock motor. But so far the stock power makes me happy for a daily driver getting over 30 mpg compared to my 2012 jeep wrangler unlimited that was getting 16 mpg with only 105 hp

I've heard cars fully botled capable of making 300-330 if I recall correctly. And this is straight pump gas 93 octane

Not for long you wont. Your local nator chapter will set you straight if you ever hang out with them.

Based off what you said, it sounds like you should be able to fix shit yourself. Unless its something expensive I say just forget about the dealer. I did. There's nothing that can go wrong with these cars that the collective knowledge and resources of this site cant help you fix.

Keko 09-11-2012 04:05 PM

Ah I always forget that cali only gets 91. Even still, I don't think you can make over 300 on pump gas? I know with e85 you can hit those numbers.

You really should come talk to the NC NATOR guys a bit, and see what you're options are before jumping into this so quickly... one our of guys who owns an Evo 9 now can tell you his story of doing too much at once on his new pu...

I know you want a lot of power out of this thing, but you need to take it easy... you don't even have your car yet man.

Edit: I probably misread what you typed... yep I did. Fuck it.

Tagging the NC guys in here... because they are extremely helpful

Hey dropping in; met the guy in person yesterday. He's a nice guy no noobing intended. He definitely read up alot on the forums. He brought up shit from like months ago that was hazy as fuck to me like it happened yesterday. I think he just lacked direction in the searching.

Either way I set him straight, he's got HPFP on order and mod list in mind. He lives in my local area so no ZZB's here. I also told him the second gen is much more finicky with just intake mods alone. He's got my number so no fail here.

His girl is legit. No pic of said lady.. but definitely win in person.

ms3rick 09-11-2012 07:55 PM

Now ap, down pipe, test pipe, fmic and a etune.. I don't know if you will hit 330 on your 93... You may need meth or e85

IMO don't go full mounts at this point, it's a lot of money and you'll get the most benefit out of a rear. Save the money for now on the sides.

Use that mount money to get an AP. get up with @eric@edgeautosport and talk to him about an autotech/AP combo. you'll need both of them.

SRI, TIP and test pipe or downpipe will put you at stage 2. since the car is brand new you may be happy with that for now. If not, you can get a front mount or a better top mount and cat back and be near fully bolted.

If you do all this you should come out near or under your price (depending on exactly how you do things) and your car will be very fun to drive. If you ever need help doing installs and can make it to raleigh, I'm always down to help.

depends if you are talking about a mustang dyno or a dynojet

StayBroke 09-12-2012 01:05 PM

Dude if you are going to throw that much cash right now then i suggest this(in this order)

-HPFP, AP, Intake, Tip, RMM, Downpipe, Fmic or Tmic(your choice but i prefer fmic).

This will not cost to much but will give you all the gains that the stock k04 can produce.

Now after you do these things then i would move on to a catback, which cnt just made for the gen 2. And then move on to the TMM and PMM.
