Welcome, search, donate enjoy your stay. What are your plans for the car?

BigRog82 04-29-2013 09:09 AM

Since I have a boss/cfo/wife, i'm going to have to build in time, but intake, exhaust, intercooler, suspension...the works. But again, all in due time.

adrager622 04-29-2013 09:21 AM

Ok, not bad, but definitely get a COBB AP and Fuel pump internals as your first mods. It will allow you to really take this car to whatever goal you want safely.

Not sure if I want to do AP just yet...won't that void the warranty? Fuel Pump Internals are a must.

Warranty? Who cares about a warranty haha. But seriously, an AP is a MUST on this car as well. And you can always 'uninstall' it before any dealer visits. But if you plan on doing any modding, you need the AP to monitor as well as tune, but mainly to monitor to make sure the car is running properly after any mods are installed.

This is true. But like i said, that will all come in due time...have to suck up to the CFO. Lol.

adrager622 04-29-2013 09:31 AM

Nothing wrong with it taking time. Just make sure you do things right so you only do the install one and it doesn't cost you in the end, aka with a zoom zoom boom!

I hear you on that one. Pet peeve of mine is to see nice cars, and they're half assed hooked up. If you gonna do it, spend the time and $$$ to do it right.

BigRog82 04-29-2013 09:37 AM

I've been lurking on here for the past week or so, so I have a feeling as to how i'm going to plot out the madness. I do have a few questions that I don't think I've seen answered, but I'ma keep searching on here so I don't look like a fuckin dummy if I do ask something that's been addressed.

Sounds like you will do fine here haha. Oh something else you may want to do is donate because it gets you access to the FS section that is only for VIPs. You can find some pretty damn good deals in there that is well worth the donation mod on this site.

Lol, I see that's how things go round these part, and it's all good.

On the real though, this site has a WEALTH of info, and has brought some things to light that I didn't even think of doing.

Gonna drop a few dollaz on payday.

Just my opinion, but the first mod I would do on that 13 that doesn't cost a dime is remove all of the dealership advertisement....but that's just my opinion. I bought my 11 brand new and was worried about the warranty as well but that will go away. Talk to your service manager and feel them out, they know why you bought a MS3 and may be cool with you doing some mods. I bought mine in Ocala FL, and the Service manager said go ahead and put mods on the car as long as you are not killing the clutch etc. and if something needs warrantied that is not related to something being installed wrong then he will take care of it. I absolutely do all of my own work on my car so I have no one else to blame but myself if something goes wrong and so far Iv'e only warrantied the driver side mirror, that was a factory probem and they replaced it for free. Enjoy the 13 it looks awsome!

The Dealer Sticker came off last night, took the pics as soon I got home. Going to remove the Mazda Speed3 emblem as well. I like clean ass. Lol. I'll talk to the service guys today, gotta go in and get my wheel locks.

There was a time (about three days ago) when I too was worried about my warranty. Then I met up with these guys for dyno day and they started pulling things out from under the hood and putting shit in and that was the end of that worry. Now I just need the money. :P You will come around.

BigRog82 04-29-2013 12:01 PM

gt_nfr 04-29-2013 08:34 PM

Welcome! Consider getting the exact same car but ended up with a new 2012 w/tech instead. Not a fan of the black wheels and mirrors...maybe it will grow on me.

Block8head 04-29-2013 09:44 PM

Well in the meantime, let's get you blessed into MSF. Go find an avatar and donate brownie faggot!

diego_uru 05-03-2013 08:31 PM

^That! Once you donate you'll save on mods, CFO will be happy...

Then come out for some NATOR DC shenanigans. Welcome!

Darthspeed3 05-04-2013 09:20 PM

welcome!
You need the following....
AP - This is a FUCKING MUST. Cant tune w/o it, need to log. and its the most powerful tool/mod at all....it will blow your mind.
Internals - Need fuel to make safe power.
-Good intake - SRI and TIP
-Good exhaust - Quality DP and a catback or full TB.
-Intercooler for flow and keeps heatsoak at a minimum
-Richtune. Local tuners are better and ours knows his shit.
-And don't forget to get some colder plugs while your at it.

railin93 05-04-2013 10:03 PM

@bigrog I have the same dilemma, seeing as how my girl was primary signer on the loan :( but all in due time. I would recommend, as was recommended to me, get an AP first so you can see what your car is telling you. Think of it as an xray fucking machine man. Then get your hpfp internals or pump all together. Only then can you compare logs and what not. This forum is filled with valuable info so DONATE, then search. PM if you'd like for any questions since im fairly new as well. Ive been reading up on things so I'm learning as I go. First mod I did was a JBR short shifter weight and linkage, as well as the shifter bushing kits. Not much of an upgrade but it was well noted. I had minor issues if you search my threads, but nothing to cry about. my warranty is good until 108k miles so I share your dilemma. i'm sure even the tinted windows I just added voided my warranty! njoy your ride

Thank you, and trust, everything you put down is on my wish list.

As far as internals...are most people just getting the internals, or swapping out the FP altogether?

socaltouch13 05-10-2013 10:18 PM

Shifter feels awesome...occasionly i still get the 2nd to 3rd miss but thats due to my sloppyness
