Noob question

I got and installed my corksport SRI today and the sound I get is good. I would like to know if I added a corksport BPV would I have to get a tune? or can I stay with the stock tune?

Upgrading your BPV is useless unless it is broken or your boosting past 21psi.

Engine mounts and cosmetics really. Each car is different, sometimes even an intake on a gen2 can cause the engine to run too lean. Even the close to stock MAF sizes.

Best to upgrade your rmm next, then start with insurance first(AP then HPFP internals). Just stay away from exhaust till you have ap/internals.

OCC, Internals, Accessport, RMM, full intake, testpipe/DP, full etune from reputable tuner.

Start with the above, read, read, read. I was feeling nice today so you get the above.

Bud, if you read around you'll see that this board isn't very friendly to those that haven't done their research and you walked right into it with these questions.

You've donated and that's good, now you're expected to read all the info this board contains before asking questions like this (you won't be asking questions like this after you read).

But to be nice, typically initial mods would be: RMM (Rear Motor Mount), Internals (fuel pump internals to upgrade the pump), and AP (Cobb AccessPort). Now go do some reading.

Doing any flow mods (even intake) and not getting an AP or whatever similar device you fancy, is like taking steroids and not working out. You don't necessarily need to get a custom tune, but at least monitor and try an OTS map or two.

I'm a noob too and I will tell any newer noob what I learned from some of the local guys. RMM, AP, and internals are mandatory, not even a question about that.

Good luck with your mod path and like others said read. I'm on here reading, more than I look at porn. That should tell you something.

To answer your original question, no you do not need a tune for an aftermarket bpv.
It is pointless though unless you want the sound. The stock one is good until I think 22lbs of boost.
Save your money and buy a rear motor mount, fuel pump internals, Cobb accessport, turbo inlet pipe, and a down pipe. That should get you WELL into the 13's and at that point you have all your basic supporting mods to upgrade further and make BIG power.
I see that you have donated, Awesome. That is your best mod so far. Now go to the for sale section you now have access to and save thousands building your monster.

Like these guys have said, there is a pretty well set upgrade path, follow it and you will be able to safely tear around in your maxi-mini muscle hatch...

Depending on your own personal goals (fast or fancy) there is more than enough information on this site for you to make an informed decision, you just have to be willing to put in the time to read it.

Yeah, If I could start over I would have put the money that I spent on my ricer valve for internals.

Stock one was working fine, but a local gave me a decent deal on it.

And stock MS3 is very slow. Even with just an AP on the stock airbox map the car is much quicker.
