I don't think so, I have one and don't have automatic headlights. Unless they put them there regardless.

I stand corrected and should have actually checked the manual before just flapping my gums. It turns out that the light sensor is in fact part of the rain sensor unit that is attached to the windshield. Sorry about the misinformation, I wonder what that black dome is then?

I think the black dome thing reads the temperature.

That looks like mine from last week, except mine was on the passenger side. Started off as a little chip and slowly grew to a 2.5ft crack.
