oil catch can or internals?

Ok I was wondering which of the two will be more important. So far all I have is a SRI. My car has 76k miles on it. I was leaning more to the occ but is it really necessary? if so what websites would be considered good?

You need to stop posting and start reading.

Start with your Welcome PM, then read the stickies in each section. You'll find the majority of your questions answered there.

Jesus. Just read the other posts. I know eric is trying to fix things but......this is a perfect example why we do what we do. Need that newb section yesterday.

Oil catch can. James Barone racing, Damond Motorsports and Corksport all offer quality pieces. Avoid anything by SURE Motorsports, they are a bad company.

Website? They are all vendors here,, there or Google em.

I would say neither, get something you can data log with like a used AP. Why get internals if you can't even read the fuel pressure?

^ +1 for AP
My 2010 with cobb intake and e-tune made a huge difference.

Catch cans dont do much in terms of keeping intake valves clean.
I have seen a few posts in which people have cleaned their valves, then taken off their manifolds 10k miles later to look and seeing dirty nasty and shitty valves again even with catch cans.

They obviously remove some shit since they fill up with crud, but still not enough to make me want one. Especially for $200+ price point. I would suggest making friends with someone who knows how to weld aluminum and getting one made, or making one yourself.

Definitely agree. Plus if you live somewhere where it gets below freezing you have the added fun of the can freezing solid and blocking the PCV. On the plus side when that happens you put on an insane smoke show for the neighborhood.

yeah it's great until you blow your turbo seals and blow by most of your oil

AP and internals are pretty much must haves. The ability to monitor and knowing you have enough fuel pressure can prevent zoom zoom boom. Seriously though search these types of questions and read up on the noob intro thread. It will answer lots of your questions and keep your rectum from being stretched. Although maybe your into that...:ms3rick:

The guy has started some pretty bad threads. All things that could be easily researched on here or google.

He's already been given some decent info
