Ordered boost gauge , need pod

I just ordered the prosport EVO series boost gauge ( 52mm ) for my gen 2. Now ive seen a gauge pod on the 2nd gen that is not on the pillar but instead right on top of the left vent should I say? Im not sure how to explain it, Ive tried to find pictures of members on here who have it but I got no luck with the search button.

Unless there is a better pod out there for the gen 2's?

Thx

It's a block8head vent pod. Here's mine (60mm)

Pm him he makes them. I can't wait to buy it.

darkcherry 12-13-2011 06:31 PM

I can Say that it is totally worth the money. He put time into these things. It is custom fit and looks awesome. I have one in my car also. 52mm.

Quality is great. Fits perfectly into the vent and is easy to install on our car (a lot easier than gen1, you just pull out the plastic piece). Highly recommended.

He can give you more details on manufacturing. And the link to the group buy thread (I think mazda3revolution or m247). I'm on my phone but I can post it later.

Just be aware that if you have s regular prosport gauge, the ones that are $38/$55 are longer than usual and will require an extended pod. I have the premium series in my picture, which is considerable thinner as it has a stepper motor. These are electric only though.

Scoobs 12-13-2011 06:36 PM

It look like it, on all the posts about his pods I never seen a bad comment about them. I have a few gauges that never got installed and I want to install them soon. The air bag location and little options out there for gauge pods make these a must. They look like they were made from CP-E or Cobb, and that's a good thing.

So, you'll have a PM soon!

I bought this gauge from a friend for $50

And I have this boost/vac gauge sitting in the same box as the shift light

Triple!!! Sweet, needed an oil pressure gauge anyway. I'll be ordering that set-up for sure. Good job.

genrec 12-13-2011 07:36 PM

So what happens to the stock boost gauge after you install this..does it still light up, or it no longer works...yeah dumb question.

Still works, although there is a way to disable it

Toymachinespeed 12-13-2011 10:52 PM

I was thinking the same thing, but still look cool. How much for the triple?

TiGraySpeed6 12-14-2011 07:24 AM

Mazdaspeed logo on the gauge- that is a damn nice detail!

What type of gauge, or is it custom, like a tiny sticker or something?

on-topic stuff- Block's pods have been around for what, a few years now? I don't think I've ever heard a bad review of product or service. Very few other Speed oriented vendors can make the same claims!

JTMS3 12-14-2011 08:12 AM

that gauge is the Aeroforce Interceptor all-in-one gauge. You can order directly from them and I think they still offer the mazdaspeed logos on them.

Back to topic... that triple pod looks sweet and I think once I get my wideband I will go with this setup. Nice work sir!

79BlueSC 12-14-2011 02:36 PM

@JTMS3 Where can you get the air vent gauge set up like you have? I thought that was only available for the Gen1?

ASHMS3 12-14-2011 03:55 PM

block8head's setups look very nice. Glowshift direct sells a triple pillar pod for about 40bucks. But, his look a lot better and you won't take a boost gauge to the grille during airbag deployment.

dereeek 12-14-2011 06:31 PM

Just placed an order for a duel pod, I can't wait to get it lol

boosted_out 12-14-2011 07:02 PM

the triple pod def looks like deadmau5 ;)

Block8head 12-14-2011 07:18 PM

This was the original design, but it doesn't fit so i redesigned like the one above...
The triple pod is not available at the moment til i figured the cost to make them... :D
triple mickey mouse pod..

@79BlueSC It is the vent pod for the gen1 but I modified it to fit inside the outer vent ring on the genpu. Even did a how-to since it worked so well.
