Ordered my parts!

I've personally been a fan of originality and stock cars, especially with my 1968 GTO, since I first started liking cars. But recently after reading a bunch of posts and going through many threads and such I have decided to look into modding. I don't consider exhaust, rims, or suspension too much of mods so I was willing to get some exhaust work done a while back. So I already have a flowmaster muffler and resonator delete (done before joining forum), and after some research and advice from a few of you guys.. I decided to throw down the money and clicked the pay now button. You bastards have changed me!!! My list of ordered parts as of yesterday and today: COBB AP, UR Test Pipe, Autotech Internals, COBB TIP, Denso ITV22's, SURE SRI, SURE Return, SURE Charge Tubes, SURE Countershift, SURE Anchors, and SURE Torq RMM.

Any thoughts, comments, or concerns? By the way I plan on getting a FREEKTUNE.

Lol welcome to the game of modding, now it will never end

Nice! Congrats on getting started and choosing some very good parts! You will have nearly the same setup as me now.... but in a month I will be rolling with a gt3071r...:3some:

Where did you buy from?

I bought from Mazdaspeed 3 2010+ | SURE Motorsports and also I ordered from Mazdaspeed 3 - 2010- Gen2 - EdgeAutosport.com ... I highly recommend both companies, even though SURE was on back-order for 3-4 weeks with their TIP, they gave the $179 back! Which I then turned around and instead bought the COBB TIP from edgeautosport! Edgeautosport was also great with answering all of my questions, and replied to my messages/emails very quickly, not to mention they also gave me some pretty good prices! :bigok:

breakfstincluded 04-27-2012 12:39 AM

charge tubes are pricey lol, i love white silicone tho, and not just the ones with milk in them

Yeaaaaaa $75 I thought was a bit much for just some hosing.. oh well

MS3G35 04-27-2012 08:52 AM

My only comment is that you could have waited on the Denso ITV22's. You don't need to install them until you start monitoring things with the AP and notice KR creeping up. But at least you have them if you need them in the near future.
I couldn't agree more about Edgeautosport. JP is the man and they're prices and customer service is spot on. I should be a damn spokes person for them.

Would you guys recommend waiting to install them? Or should I just do it and get it done with?

I would wait. Get an e-tune by one of the awesome tuners on here and then see what they have to say.

G26 04-27-2012 09:29 AM

I would throw them in. I ran ITV-22's since I put my autotechs in with no issues.

Seatime3 04-27-2012 09:56 AM

Per Cobb's recommendations I gaped my itv 22's at .028
Originally I thought you were not supposed to gap iridiums But on Cobb forums they recommend it.

When I install my 3071 do you recommend .024? Also I will probably be running the NGK's since Denso's are back ordered. What would you gap the NGK's?

You're off to a great start man! I wish I would've had the coin to buy a bunch of parts all at once. I had to space them out, mainly in an attempt to hide the purchases from my wife.

Only things missing power wise are a DP and aftermarket IC...........you can always get suspension stuff too!!!

My next plans are an IC, then coilovers/rims.

I get a little drone from around 1500-2000 RPMS. BUT it doesn't bother me because my GTO also has straight through to flowmasters and that drones from like 1500-3000 is my guess (no gauge to see actual RPMS..) That's the late 60's for ya...

evilgrin 04-27-2012 12:55 PM

Yeah, I'm 40 and have had plenty of modded cars in my time, so I swore I was'nt going to do a thing to this car. 8k on the odo and down there is my sig. :saevil: Want even moar.

Dumyz 04-27-2012 01:37 PM

Update already. I will be getting NGK's instead of the Denso's.

fortressofcomfort 04-27-2012 10:31 PM

Thanks man! Since I'm still 18, and living with my parents (fml)... They've started to get upset with how much I'm on the forum, compared to doing homework or studying. hahaha! Wahtever it's paid off.

Voltron 04-27-2012 11:20 PM

Fawk I wish I didnt have to hide all my mods from wifey, and pulled the trigger on everything at once like you.

Anyways, good luck modding, and say bye bye to warranty.

Told her I just needed a rmm and that was it. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Congrats on also (apparently) being an 18 year old that's not a complete FYHN idiot. Be careful young Jedi....

Dumyz 05-02-2012 09:49 AM

Internals and NGK's have arrived. 2 out of the 11 mods.

I'll be taking some videos soon of before and after, to show the difference these make. Not sure if I should just keep posting in this thread, or if I should make a build diary one? Probably just keep going with this one..

Dumyz 05-03-2012 06:37 PM

SURE Aeros, SURE Return, SURE Countershift, Sure Torq RMM, and SURE Anchors have arrived. The SURE Charge Tubes went on back order for 30 days, but the $75 was still charged. Called them up and they told me that it was a mistake and that my money would be given back within 2 days.

Dumyz 05-05-2012 11:19 PM

Cobb AP, Cobb TIP have arrived. UR TP will be here Monday.

joishine 05-09-2012 07:03 PM

So envious reading someone doing this, I will be trying to do this is September when I've saved up the money from my job this summer.

And also really good setup you've done and you seem like me, reading up on everything about these cars before just jumping into mods.

jamesmp319 05-09-2012 07:49 PM

You are doing what I want to do to my 2012 !! If I didnt have a house I could drop the cash like you did !! When i was 18 I was dumping cash like you on a Jeep lol...
I have been waiting 2 months now for my tip from sure and was billed and never refunded anything wasnt even givin the option!! I talked to them last week and it ws still on back order, I might just call tomorrow and have them ship all the shifting stuff and a rmm instead.
Good luck with the modding!
