P0139 car shooting clouds of white smoke The good news about this story is it happened while I was smacking a Genesis. The bad news is something got fucked. I started to hear a weird whine sound and my exhaust started popping. When I pulled into the nearest parking spot there was white smoke coming out of my exhaust. When I rev it a huge cloud comes billowing out. This car only has 23000 on it and I'm still under warranty. I was also monitoring knock and the highest it hit was 1.6. But, wth could this be. I also got a p0301 previously for a cylinder 1 misfire and I cleared it to see if it would come back and it never did. Probably tappin dat ass |
So I checked my plugs and they were fine. The turbo seemed fine. How much play are you supposed to get with the turbine wheel? It spun when I turned it, but didn't keep spinning. The tow truck driver said possibly a blown head gasket. Could this be the case? Probably tappin dat ass |
I blow white smoke from my exhaust occasionally when my oil needs changed. You're turbo is probably bad like mine. I just haven't replaced mine yet. Look in your boost tubes, if you see oil, there's your problem. I just can't believe that it would go bad on a close to new speed... I don't believe shaft play is considered when your turbo seals go out. And our turbo isn't BB so it will stop pretty soon after hand turning it. |
When I say smoke, this isn't a little bit of smoke. I'll try and get a video as soon as possible, but when I rev it, it looks like sea foam but a little bit darker. There is also a constant flow of white smoke from the exhaust. The tow truck driver also said I could of possibly over boosted and that did something. But, wouldn't this turbo blow before it hit enough boost to actually do damage? I have never seen boost over 21 either. Like I said, I was monitoring knock and I didn't get any dangerously high knock either. |

Sounds like turbo is shot. Usually if you spin the compressor it will spin freely and keep spinning for a few seconds. I would definitely check compression though. Looks like its stock out time. You don't have may mods so it won't take long Sent from your couch |

You should be able to get a loaner compression tester from Autozone. |

I don't think its a compression issue, but worth checking. I think k04 said F.U. lol Sent from your couch |

Damn man sorry to hear bud. Just can't imagine the turbo going out at 23k |
Mine went out at less than that and I was bone stock. RapaTapTap |
Well the car is stock now. Took about 6 hours lol. Hopefully they don't give me shit about any so called mods lol. I'm just going to play stupid. Probably tappin dat ass |
|
Dang, sorry to hear. Hopefully dealer doesn't give you shit when you take it in. |
Jesus that's a lot of smoke. Hope everything goes well. |
damn man the smoke is ridiculous! good luck and report back this car is so damn unpredictable it seems |
Damn... when my turbo blew... at 60k-ish miles, I had 1 puff of white smoke, was fully bolted at the time. You are puking white smoke. Jeez. |
It would surprise me if that was the turbo.. That looks more like a head gasket failure. Are you losing coolant? |
That smoke is very white, doesn't look like oil IMO. As suggested it looks like you are burning coolant. Also, that doesn't really look like oil in the test pipe as much as it is water mixed with a little oil. Either way, you've stocked out. Hopefully you'll be getting a new engine. |

Check the oil cap for foamy deposit of mixed oil and water. RapaTapTap |
There is nothing foamy in the oil. But when I checked, the oil level was extremely low. I just changed my oil 2 months ago and I drained a little over 5 quarts. So for some reason, from then to now, my car has been burning oil. I really hope the dealership doesn't try and fuck me. This should not happen on a new car with 23000. I'm sitting in the dealer now and the service rep was like, as long as you don't have anything aftermarket you should be good. Probably tappin dat ass |

Are they whispering And then looking over at you? |
Slip some charcoal briquettes in your ass while you're waiting for the reply - worst case scenario you can sell the diamonds and just buy a new motor. |

Yeah, just watched the video. That shit cra-. Best of luck. |
Just got the news, it's bad and good. The good news is I'm getting a turbo under warranty, the bad news I have to drive a dodge avenger for a week. Atleast it gas satellite radio. Probably tappin dat ass |
Did you have a tune? If so, did you flash back to stock? |

I guess I pushed it to far. The day before I got close to 140 against an evo and against the evo I was around 120-130. Who knows, maybe the seals were already shot and those two races did it. Probably tappin dat ass |
