Paint protection film width

I am looking to install some PPF on the hood/headlights/fenders/maybe mirrors. What width have you all gone with for the hood or what is the width that your kits came in if you went that route. I am thinking either 12" or 18". Should I go more?

Honestly just get a precut set. The stuff is thick and not easy to trim exact.

I do not want to spend that amount. I have worked with this film quite a bit on my carbon bike frames, and it is not that difficult to cut. Why do people hate to do things themselves?

I wrap cars on a constant basis. I've worked with this stuff a ton as well on automobiles. I just find it extremely easier to load the film into my plotter and precut the film. It does not like to be wrapped around tight edges and unless you get an awesome bevel you will always have a slight edge that will slowly lift and get dirt under it.
