Painted Calipers Gloss Black with Red Decals 3 Attachment(s) Thought I would share my results from my hump day project. Took 3 hours of easy work. Box of paint cost $36. Obviously used G2 gloss black caliper paint. That stuff is absolutely amazing don't use anything else unless you are powder coating. Goes on very easy and dries perfectly flat. Bought the decals off eBay (very happy with them). Overall I think they turned out great. Looks so much better than stock. I will be adding Brembo slotted rotors and some new pads soon. I think red would have looked good but I was going for understated. :wiggle: First picture is front, middle is rear and last is front without the wheel. |
Was thinking of doing the same thing funny enough. Looks cool  |

Also, I cleared the stickers on with nail polish. Just to make sure they dont start to peel. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 Quote:

I got lucky and my gf had a container... it took a little explaining to tell her why it was in the garage when she got home lol Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 |
Looks good. You sold me. There's going to be another blue pu with black calipers driving around. Then I'm done with rice mods and on the the fastz. |
Looks awesome. I may attempt this. Clear nail polish is a good idea. |
G2 rocks. |
I would think the clear polish would peel or turn yellow with heat. I need to do this. Hope they have blue stickers. |
I just ordered these. They come in a bunch of colors. I read a few reviews online, and they seem to be good quality and have good customer service. I'm going with silver decals on black calipers, since I'm pretty sure the blue wouldn't match the cbm color. Mazda Speed Brake Caliper Decal Sticker 13 Colors to Choose from x4 Decals | eBay |

Wow, that red looks great! This is definitely added to my to-do list! |
[QUOTE=torq;2136573]Here's mine with red Front http://i.imgur.com/yew4Ks5.jpg Is this regular red G2 paint, or a custom color? Yours came out really nice, so I like to get the same color. |

In case anyone doesn't know which paint to use I'll suggest the VHT caliper spary paint (use the clear too) The finish will be like a factory painted caliper |

Do you just slap the decals on after you paint and that's it or do you put clear coat over them after? Quote:

Yea I rock 16" FD RX7's for my summer wheels. I also have another set of FD's for my race car tires. The rims are 16x8 and the tires on this set are 225/50/16 nitto 555r drag radials. |

The 16's are awesome, they look great IMO and good tires are ~$600. I use my stock 18's for winter tires because 18" performance tires are expensive. |
