Default Painted Calipers Gloss Black with Red Decals

Thought I would share my results from my hump day project. Took 3 hours of easy work. Box of paint cost $36. Obviously used G2 gloss black caliper paint. That stuff is absolutely amazing don't use anything else unless you are powder coating. Goes on very easy and dries perfectly flat. Bought the decals off eBay (very happy with them). Overall I think they turned out great. Looks so much better than stock. I will be adding Brembo slotted rotors and some new pads soon.

I think red would have looked good but I was going for understated.

First picture is front, middle is rear and last is front without the wheel.

Same here, been trying to decide between red and black, I have black wheels so idk if it would be too much with black calipers, anyone have pics of black on black?

Looks way better in person. If you do it make sure you use G2.

I think red would look good with black or white decals. Black might blend too much.

Yeah, my lug nuts are that anodized red so it looks almost pinkish, red w/ black decals would look good though.

Nope, no issues at all. Less than $10 and they got here in 2 days. Don't remember who I got them from but I did get them on ebay.

Clear nail polish, great idea. I'll do that when I get home. That is, if I can find nail polish.

Looks good. You sold me. There's going to be another blue pu with black calipers driving around. Then I'm done with rice mods and on the the fastz.

I would think the clear polish would peel or turn yellow with heat. I need to do this. Hope they have blue stickers.

I just ordered these. They come in a bunch of colors. I read a few reviews online, and they seem to be good quality and have good customer service. I'm going with silver decals on black calipers, since I'm pretty sure the blue wouldn't match the cbm color.

I had some concerns as well but no issues yet. I've done some spirited driving on the dragon but I've not had it on a track.

Have the exact same stuff waiting to be put on. Black G2 with the red stickers.

I've been lazy lately though...

Looks great!

No need. Stuff goes on pretty easily without getting it all over the place.

Clean first with soap, water and cleaning brush then spray with provided brake cleaner. Takes about 30min to an hour depending how dirty you calipers are.

I feel like purple calipers with a white decal may need to happen to my CWP.

Is this regular red G2 paint, or a custom color? Yours came out really nice, so I like to get the same color.

It's the color match with the velocity red mica, 27A, it came out quite a bit darker, or maybe my paint has just faded a bit. Looks good though, not crazy bright fire engine red.

In case anyone doesn't know which paint to use I'll suggest the VHT caliper spary paint (use the clear too) The finish will be like a factory painted caliper

Do you just slap the decals on after you paint and that's it or do you put clear coat over them after?

I clear coated the decals with clear nail polish that had a hardener in it. They are holding up great over a year later.

Yea I rock 16" FD RX7's for my summer wheels. I also have another set of FD's for my race car tires. The rims are 16x8 and the tires on this set are 225/50/16 nitto 555r drag radials.

Good deal. That's impressive that they still look good after more than a year. That's cool that you're rocking 16s. I have 16s for my winter wheels but the car came with some Enkei Klamp 18s for the summer set up, which I'm not crazy about. I don't really like 18 inch wheels on these shitty Vermont roads.

I have 16s for my winter wheels but the car came with some Enkei Klamp 18s for the summer set up, which I'm not crazy about. I don't really like 18 inch wheels on these shitty Vermont roads.
Over a year with 3 weekend trips to the dragon, so they've seen some heat lol.

The 16's are awesome, they look great IMO and good tires are ~$600. I use my stock 18's for winter tires because 18" performance tires are expensive.
