PCM 0101 popped up during cruising So I am cruising at about 75 MPH and chilling there; Black Magic Woman blasting and suddenly CEL comes on. AP is handy so I pull the code while without missing a beat and it states PCM 0101 - something's up with the MAF sensor. I scratch my head, reset the code on the fly and start monitoring the MAF sensor but all appears to be well. I cruised about 8 miles before getting home after the CEL reset and got nothing. Could this be a fluke? A foreshadowing? Mods are in the sig and am on a DJ based e85/91 tune that so far has been nothing but fantastic :o |
Any recent logs? |
Go to autozone and spend 10 bucks on some MAF cleaner. It's worth a shot and could fix your problem. |

I cleaned and reoiled mine last weekend. It was pretty damn dirty at 11k miles. |
Could've gotten the MAF a little wet...dirty MAF...etc..clean it and don't worry about it if it doesn't come back. |
What would you use to clean the MAF sensor? Anything that can be bought at Kragen? |
|
Haha - how... quaint  |
Update: So I finally got around to cleaning the MAF last Sunday. I can't say the MAF was uber filthy but it was, nevertheless, cleaner after I finished with it. I used the shit they sell at Kragen - don't think it should matter what I use though. I didn't have much of a chance to clean the air filter though; I just took it off and patted it down but I bet I need to do a proper cleanup (filter has ~20K on it). Right after I cleaned it, I took it for a spin and it seemed to be fine but, the three days later (Weds) the code still popped up. I figured it must've been a ghost code that just manifested itself and reset it... and it came back up again today about 40 miles after resetting it. Now mind you - when it comes up - there is no hesitation, no hiccup, nothing. Car drives great, feels great, AFRs are good, no knock! Could a tune be causing this...? |
CorkSport seems to suggest that perhaps the MAF sensor is not sitting flat and could be leaking - but if I have it screwed in tight - shouldn't matter, right? Or - should I use a third party sealer around the MAF? |
If you're that worried about the seal, get some of the "Right Stuff" from your local auto parts store; be warned, though, that once it sets you'll need a razor blade to pop the maf back out. This shit will seal an at-temp oil pan full of oil to the block with no bolts needed. It's good shit. |
Wolly6973 and I got that code recently also, just after Cobb switched to the newest version of ATR. I never had the code until then. I disabled it, and my car is running fine. |

Are you sure you didn't just suck a Civic into the intake? |
