Default Picking up 2012 velocity red ms3 soon

Hey guys

I went to check out and test a 2012 ms3 yesterday. Is there a easy technique to get this car going, because it seems to me I'm having a rough time. Currently driving a 09 si coupe and will be trading that in tuesday. The si is a lot easier to drive than the ms3. The si clutch engages low so it was a lot easier. I'm having a hard time finding it and actually stalled twice during the test driv,..smh. I felt embarrassed lol. Any advice would be appreciated thanks guys

Give it some throttle like half way on releasing the clutch

all cars are different, you just have to practice.

Hold about 1500-2000 RPM and release. It catches around the half way point.

Get the car and driving it will be no problem. To me it is one of the easiest sticks I have ever driven. You were just nervous.

Nice color choice, I have the same, 2012 red with tech. I actually purchased the car and didn't know how to drive stick and had to learn on my way home. I knew the basics, put it in gear, release the clutch, etc but never physically drove one before. After 2-3 days I felt more comfortable. Needless to say the drive home or even just getting out of the parking lot was priceless. If you already have experience actually driving a stick , give a few hours of driving and you should be fine. Like the guys said. 1500 to 2000 and release!!

Just take it slow when you first let the clutch out... give it a bit of gas as you let the clutch out and just note where the clutch point is. I don't know why this car is pegged as having a hair trigger clutch, it took me about 4hrs to get comfortable driving it, and by the end of the day I was already hill climbing. I have only stalled it twice ever, and both times I was not stepping on the gas enough.

Getting it going is easy if you release clutch halfway then give gas as mentioned. A smooth 1-2 shift on the other hand..
