Potential Buyer with some Mod ?'s I guess for starters I owned a 2011 Sentra Spec-V and recently sold it and have been looking for something to take it's place. I went to a local dealership yestarday and test drove one with the tech package. I was surprised with 3 people in the car (myself, gf and salesman) with the power it still had and enjoyed driving it.. I'm planning on reading through the forums for some more advice on the MOD's people are currently doing to them as I know nothing about mazda's. But I would like to ask where to start with a 2500-4k budget what I could possibly do to make it faster and what will void the warranty. I have heard about some of them blowing up once you get into higher power levels. I guess any advice would help. Thanks |
If you want real power, 2500-3500 in parts to be fully bolted, but warranty will def be in question. Read a lot and make the decision. I ditched my warranty for power |

What you need to do. Is research ALOT buy fuel pump internals/dp/intake/cobb ap/Tune by one of the tuners on this forum/ run E or Meth and shit yourself. Because if you think a stock one is quick a few bolt ons and meth/or E and your gonna love life.:3some: |
I'll bite :) You can get at or over 300whp with (These are rough costs pulled from my hazy memory) Upgraded intake $300 Upgraded fuel pump $350 Upgraded down pipe $400 (high flow primary cat) COBB AccessPORT ($600) Upgraded intercooler ($550 average among all TMIC/FMIC options) Step colder spark plugs (Denso ITV22s are my pick) ($50) $2250 total for all the parts. This setup got me close to 300whp, and I was hindered only by crappy gas and heat soak. Whether or not you'll break 300whp depends on the quality of all the parts + proper tune. I can help you out with an etune, just PM me (shameless plug lol) Of course, with your mod budget, you could probably go BT as well. That depends on whether or not you want to work on other parts of the car, i.e. appearance, suspension, etc. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus |
intake, downpipe/test pipe and a cobb tune on e85 and thats the most power youre getting out of the stock turbo. Research what brands / products work for you. Mazdas were blowing up because people were not addressing the fuel issues, you will need a fuel pump, no ifs and or buts. |
Thanks everyone this helps out a lot! I'm not sure if there are too many places to get E-85 in the northern va area.. I looked a while back when looking to go E-85 with a 04 Cobra and I only saw one in Arlington which isn't close at all. Sounds like I could get pretty close to 300 hp with the bolt ons mentioned above on 93 tune for less than 5 grand which would be awesome!! |
If you are smart with your money you could hit the big turbo world for under 4 grand. I like you have no E85. Also check out Full race's EFR. Most importantly read and read there is tons of knowledge and entertainment. Finally donate to get to the VIP forums containing the for sale section. |
Yea I got to 296hp-335tq with intake/dp/catback/tmic/tune/fuelpump internals with 93oct . With E85 315hp-349tq thats only a 3 gallon mix. |
I came from an '08 Spec-V. I loved that car, but I love this one even more. Only comlpaint really is the polka-dot interior and the tranny doesn't feel as smooth as it did in the Nissan. But the pro's far outweigh the cons with the MS3. Do it, now. |
