I got to 24.5 which was good but better because I got a date with the dealer's receptionist.

She was good, very, very good.

It would appear that a 2012 CWP is not meant to be for me.

The first dealer who I dealt with back in November worked up a deal with me and said it would be no problem to get the car but then 3 weeks later said he'd exhausted all avenues and couldn't get his hands on a CWP one.

I talked with a few other dealers after that but no one was willing to work to a price that I felt was good enough. Then on Wednesday, I went and saw a local dealer who had one in stock figuring maybe I could swing a good deal with it being so close to month/year end. After a few hours of talking, we came to a price that worked on both my trade and the car. I left them a $250 deposit and told them I'd be back on Saturday with the check and my wife to sign all of the papers. I called them mid day today to confirm everything and find out what time they'd be ready for me in the morning. The sales manager who I worked my deal with had been off yesterday and he informed me that when he got in this morning he found out the car had been sold yesterday even though he had a note in the system saying there was a deposit on the car. He is supposedly on the phone now trying to get hands on another car but I'm not holding my breath.

After all this, it looks like I'll stick with the 2009 for a few more months and then in the spring reconsider what I want.

Thats just harsh. Finding a CWP is tough already since everyone seems to love the color. I get it from a business standpoint why they sold it out from under you. However its just not good Public Relations to do that to people. Good Luck

So when one popped up local to me, i ran over to the dealer. Even frontin like i didnt want the white, they knew they had a rare bird. It was hard enuff to get them to drop 1100 off sticker. Im happy though. Got my color and love the fuckin car. Cant wait till im done with break in! Good luck finding white. I know what ur going through!

Congrats on the car. A little pricey but as long as you get what you want, that's all that matters

The dealer did give me a call back on Friday evening and they were able to locate another CWP 2012 at a dealer in the neighboring state. The car should be in tomorrow after lunch so hopefully assuming nothing else goes wrong, I will be all set.

There are so many places a dealer can hide money when buying a car.

I walked into Thompson Mazda, saw my new 2012 black mica ms3 on the floor, drove it, bought it, was out of there in 2 hours. I hate f'in around at dealers. Car does not have the navi so sticker is 24,795. The 'pack' brought it up to 24,994. Got it for 24153 (plus tax) at 4% for 60mos. So basically I got 642 off of Mazdas sticker. That was after 1 round of negotiation. Sounds like just an ok deal, not that great. But here's the thing.... They gave me 6000 for my trade in, a 2007 Hyundai Elantra that had been nearly totaled in 2008. It had major frame damage, the dealer knew it, I even told them (again I don't like to f around). That price is at least 1500, maybe 2000 more than what the car was worth because people don't pay squat for a car that's been in an accident anymore. Oh and I get synth oil changes for life every 5k miles whoo hoo.

Point is, the dealer can make money in so many diff places that it's so hard to compare deals. Trade ins are a biggy, also be sure to check the finance charges. You can have good credit but they can hide money there. Even one percent can earn them 500 or 1000 bucks.

I hate these kinds of threads, not sure why I just responded. Anyway enjoy the new car once you get it. I could never go through what you are doing op, I'm wayyyy too impulsive for that. I don't know how people can stand doing business with dealers.

still not buyin these dealer stories... i bought my CWP from the first dealer I went to, at about $2k under sticker.. you do know that when you tell them you don't like the car they don't think you're serious about buying, right?

I agree that its very hard to compare prices people get. I know personally for me, I negotiate each piece of the deal separately. I don't even talk about trade with a dealer until I've reached a price on the new car that I'm happy with. I also do all of my financing through my credit union as the dealerships very rarely can come close to that and that gives the dealer one less place to play games with money. I've walked from several dealers the last few months because they wouldn't play ball at one point of the deal and I've got the various price points in my head for each part which I won't move from. It just so happens all the pieces came together right with this one.

Yeah, fuck Myer's. They put like $1000 worth of pinstriping, fabric sealant and tire warranty bullshit on all the cars. As soon as I saw that I pretty much walked out. Also, the idiot salesman told me the car was a twin turbo, LOL.

Russel and Smith are also a bunch of jerkoffs. Tried to get greedy. Wanted to give me $3500 for my Honda accord. Ended up selling it in ONE day on craigslist for $5700.

I ended up buying mine at Jeff Haas for like 23,700 plus TTL (this was a 2011 w/ tech that I bought in May)

Also, why are you guys even wasting your time going to the dealer to negotiate? As soon as you set foot in the door you loose all negotiating power. Just email to get best prices and bounce them back and forth between dealers until nobody will go lower.

I paid 25,200 with all fees and stuff included. That was the cheapest i could find on the east coast. I would have flew to houston and drove it back if i could have gotten that price.

Just got my silver 2012 no tech yesterday for $23,500 OTD.

This was with a trade in of a 2001 Audi TT that I still owed $4350 on. It had some pretty bad cosmetic issues and a CEL so they offered me $3500 on the trade in. The original offer was low $23k or so sticker, plus the upside-down on the Audi, so it came out to like $24,400 plus Tax Title/tags and processing fee, which would bring it up another $2k or so.

So I told the guy "look, there's a 2011 with under 6,000 miles for under $22k sticker, WITH the tech package in the same color, at this other dealership 15 miles away that I'm gonna go look at after I'm done here. I just came here first because it was closer."

So he goes "oh, well let me tell my boss the situation and see what he says..."

Then he comes back with $23,900 OTD saying "I'm really surprised he did that, I didn't think he would..." And I go, "Okay, awesome. I still think I'm going to look at that other one, but I am leaning towards a new one."

So he looks at his boss, whose standing behind me, and he steps in and introduces himself and does the whole "itsusedyoudontknowhowitwastreateditcouldhavebeenm oddedblahblahblah", shows me the dealer cost on the car, the whole wheeling and dealing thing. So I just stare at him for a few seconds. And then he goes "Okay, $23,500 on the road. That's basically me giving you $6k on the Audi at this point."

So I jumped on that. Of course this is my first NEW car, and I'm planning on having it for the long haul, so I bought the extended 7yr/100k bumper-to-bumper warranty, and the $650 wheel/tire deal since I've probably replaced 6 tires in the past 3 years from random damage. So basically got the entire deal for $26k or so total.

Also, the Washington Auto Show just rolled through like a week ago, and apparently Mazda offers $300 incentive to all the dealers in the area when that happens, so that helped. Didn't know they did that.

Tl;dr - Euro cars: Never again.

I got my 2012 white ms3 for 22,800 out the door taxes everything... Only reason was because the day before I called about a 2010 grey speed pulled out a loan for it already and told them I would be there at 10am... I get there and they had sold the car to MS3rick and I was yelling at the sales guy for how crappy that was of them. Then he said he would make it up to me and got me into a new 2012 for the right price.

OTD means fuck all. If you are going to put a price, include the breakdown.

No trade-in.

Just to clarify the $25050 included everything except tax and license.
Yeah, that's not really OTD. On these cars tax is at least $1200 (6% in Florida). I got my 2012 CWP with tech pkg. for $25982 all inclusive. The best price I found was $25582 OTD, but it was red. Too many red ones out there already. My financing deal was steller (1.5% from the dealership)- they beat my financing rate from Pen Fed. I sprung for GAP insurance, so that was a bit extra...

25.8k OTD non-tech. I can check the taxes and delivery if someone really wants it. This was from a Chicago suburb dealer.

It seems like a good deal though. What do ya'll think? $25700 walkout for a MS3 without the tech pack? It doesn't seem like anyone in Houston will go lower than that. Clear Lake is offering $26100 for theirs, but it already has 100 miles or so on it.
Ouch- That's high...

In the Atlanta area white is easy to find but, the pearl white is not as pearl as I like so I got a black mica. I'm not sure why people love the cwp.

This is EXACTLY what I did and got as low as 23,500.

Wow I feel pretty good about the price I got.. I picked up a CWP w/tech for 26200 OTD about 2 weeks ago.. I called dealers in the area and told them to give their best quote..OTD price, any surprises and I walk. Dealer with the best quote wins. I got some crazy numbers some high one really low. This number was the honest lowest number.

Paid 24.5k OTD (taxes and everything) on a black MS3 (without tech) about 3-4 weeks ago with very little haggling.

I was offered $25.3k plus TTL for a '12 CWP w/tech package. I thought that was a good deal based on my Truecar research. But it sounds like some of you folks got it for under $26k OTD. I'd like to stick to that price level!
Idk about any major differences between the 11-12, but I got my '10 with Tech and all 22k out the door - granted it was the "blue lion"
So def stick to your under 26 standards!
