Default Problems with the car

ok so decided to make a thread following the problem to the Tee. so maybe someone here has either had the same problem or something close to it. Ok so my mods are in my signature and bascially when i was AT internals and stock airbox the car ran fine 1,000 plus miles. then i ordered the intake and car ran good for a bit then about 250 miles or so later running the stage 1 TIH & SRI CS map OTS my car starts sputtering so bad that i have it towed to the dealer. said that it was running terrible. drained the gas and ran good gas in it and it ran fine. so be it. get the car and cobb it before i leave all the numbers look good did some wot on the way home all was well. it was kind of a long trip. the took the car out to a meet and ran some guys and car was fine. it seems like after a couple of drive cycles the random misfire sputter just keeps coming back. it happend again took it to dealer and they said the car checked out fine and to put stock airbox back on so they could see if that was the problem. im trying to avoid this given that i love the way it runs with the intake on. the other day i thought maybe the MAF sensor had something wrong with it maybe not enough tilt so gave it a slight tilt downwards and ran no cobb ap and only exp. 1 little minor misfire. then corksport told me to go ahead and re map it with stock map and check my LTFT & STFT which im in the process of working with corksport with that. but i was wondering if someone could shed some light on this problem. taking back to the dealer is no longer an option. this is my daily driver and when it starts getting bad stuttering i keep having to reflash or reset the ecu which i hate doing but i have to make it to work. any suggestions or insight would be much appreciated.

the one time where i did get a cell and the car had to be towed the cobb said p0300 or something close to that and said random misfire. so the stutter is a random misfire and we all know that is not good but i was thinking if the car has 5,000 miles the sparks should be fine. fuel pressure is good and looking at the car i cant think other then swapping the intake to fix it. but. im thinking that would suck if i cant mod the car with an intake.

Take cs intake off, replace with stock intake. Drive ~250 miles.

Jesus I got dizzy reading your post.

Anyways, just pull the plugs to make sure its all good there, check all connections to make sure its good there, double check tip connection to make sure its good there. Basically what I'm saying is double check everything, then pull disconnect battery, step on brake to drain, and see if that fixes it. Sometimes its the little shit that fucks you up.

Check your air straightener, there's been a small rash recently of CS intakes having the straightener fall out of place. If it fell out, it may be keeping your MAF from getting a good reading. Your symptoms sound different, but just an idea.

Step 1 : Take off air filter.

Step 2 : Stick penis inside intake.

Step 3 : Turn car on.

Step 4 : Wait........

Step 5 : You're now a woman.

Just put the damn stock intake on. If the dealership is willing to help, let them help fool!

as has been said, double check TIP and SRI install, reset ecu and see if that helps.

if not, stock out the intake and see if that helps. i am guessing it will not, since i have hardly ever heard of intakes causing misfires. then you can take it in and make it the dealer's problem. for a car with only 5k, definitely make this the dealer's problem until it is perfect or they give you a different car.

If I were you, I would completely uninstall the intake/tip and re-install all the stock stuff. Then I would uninstall the AP and try driving for around 250miles and see how it goes.

you need to buy a new keyboard with a return and capslk key. you need a return key. you need a capslk key. shift key is an option also. return is very important. not sure about your car. i would reset the ecu. sounds like intake problem. check that. stupid keyboard. stock out and take to dealer. get them to fix it. dont give me that phone keyboard bullshit either. i know that isnt the problem i have a phone too. maybe you should reinstall the intake. check all bolts. hope it helps.

here is some info for you, but ya stock out and take it to the dealership, and I am even saying this as a mazda tech, make it there issue no need for you to spend your money and time on this.
DTC P0300:00

Random misfire detected

DETECTION CONDITION

The PCM monitors the CKP sensor input signal interval time. The PCM calculates the change of interval time for each cylinder. If the change of interval time exceeds the preprogrammed criteria, the PCM detects a misfire in the corresponding cylinder. While the engine is running, the PCM counts the number of misfires that occurred at 200 crankshaft revolutions and 1,000 crankshaft revolutions and calculates a misfire ratio for each crankshaft revolution. If the ratio exceeds the preprogrammed criteria, the PCM determines that a misfire, which can damage the catalytic converter or affect emission performance, has occurred.

Diagnostic support note

This is a continuous monitor (misfire).

The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects a misfire which affects emission performance in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.

The MIL flashes if the PCM detects a misfire which can damage the catalytic converter during the first drive cycle.

PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects a misfire which affects emission performance during the first drive cycle.

FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.

The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

You should be able to diagnose your issues without taking the modified car to the dealership every time something pops up. As they said, stock out and see if it still occurs. If the issue is gone, then it is modification related.

If modification related:
You have a leak
You improperly installed something
You need a tune

That is really about it.

My 2011 had to have the spark plugs replaced at around 8k miles. I wonder if there is a problem with the spark plugs on these cars.

Mazda called me and apprently they drove the car 120 miles after hitting the random misfire and when looking over everything they said the intake was the problem.? had lose bolts which once the car started driving it was hitting a boost leak causing the pcm to flip out? so hopefully thats all it is but funny that i made sure when doing the install that all bolts were tight.
