just to let you know...those 120 miles they drove to "recreate" the problem, they beat the shit out of it. just letting you know.

from experience, service techs don't give two shits about who's car, what car it is, they beat it.

The younger guys will, but not typically the older techs. Even then, its not the techs you need to worry about; they know how to drive. Its the lot attendants and car wash guys who will really rag on your shit, and not all of them can actually drive a stick.

lol well i worked at a honda dealership...washing cars. thats why i say what i say. I've seen first hand what they do lol. i used to beat the shit out of the cars they sold on ebay. it is what it is haha

I washed cars and drove cars at Pontiac. I miss being able to drive all sorts of cars, from civics to XLR-Vs. I feel sorry for whomever bought a GTO from that dealer during the time I worked there. Lol.

I am calling such major bullshit here.

None of this make any sense.

1. You install aftermarket intake.
2. Car has driveability issues, so you take it to the dealer with aftermarket intake and they tell you its bad gas and you pay them for that diagnosis.
3. You take the car home and it still has the driveability issue, so you take it back to the dealer and get some area/regional manager involved. Even though you have installed aftermarket parts, the manager says Mazda will take responsibility for any issues.
4. Dealer tells you that you fucked up the intake install so they fix it for you for free????
5. You decide they should refund you for earlier bad gas diagnosis because it robbed you of exhaust funds.
6. Then dealer tells you that "your car's" MAF is too sensitive for CS intake and you need to re-install stock component and they charge you nothing???

You need to return the car and either start riding a bicycle or the bus...

alright another update. drove the car home today and paid the dealer 105$ for having to install the stock tip and airbox back on. the car seems to drive fine now. although im a little upset that the intake made the car run like shit someone help me out and tell me what intake i should go to and if the intake was causing the misfire what could have been wrong. they said my maf sensor was sensitive but i fail to see how that would cause a misfire . do you think the first thing they said being a air leak was the problem the whole time

Dude, people are just toying with you now.

Honestly, I am sure that your issue was somehow related to the post MAF leak. You really should be able to run the CS Intake with TIH with no issues especially since you have an AP and can run a stage 1 map that at least gets you close.

Most of us GenPu owners ran intakes and racepipes for a long time before we had AP support and never had major issues especially since you already have FP internals loaded. I find it hard to believe that "your" MS3 has a more sensitive MAF than any other...

Not to be a total dick here, but I really think that you need to fins a local forum member or shop to help you out with any future modding and troubleshooting. Half a dozen people here told you to check for leaks or just simply pull the whole intake off and re-install paying close attention to details.

I am not sure why the dealer was so cooperative when you clearly had issues related to aftermarket parts that were poorly installed, but thank your lucky stars they didn't flag your VIN as modded within the Mazda system.

Get all your shit professionally installed and a proper tune and learn how to monitor the important values to keep you out of trouble. And for GOD's sake, when veteran members give you free advice around here, FOLLOW IT!!!!!!!

So just to be clear, you have had this issue at least 3 times, and have no logs to show us?

Shit the logs would have helped the dealer out too.

Soooo what happened with your LTFT and STFT? Were they okay, were they way off?

We need logs of said event to help you.

Also, when you modify ANY part of the intake system you MUST at least CHECK your MAF calibration and 98.99% of the time you will need to have to make compensations based on log data.

When we replaced my fuel pump internals one of the Nator Houston guys, think it was Michael, said we should check the IC hose clamp, and sure enough it was loose..this could have been the problem

Pit just the SRI on without the TIP
It's a great debate on weather or not the TIP provides any gains, and usually requires fuel pump upgrade as a supporting mod. The only gain I have read about the TIP is that it helps the turbo spool a bit quicker.

I'm running just a Cobb Sri, did the install myself in maybe 15 min and enjoy the results.

well for right now im running bone stock other then the autotech internals. heres my next question. should i be ok running stock with the autotech internals on? do i need to run my cobb if having that mod ?

Pretty sure it doesnt matter if your running stock with internals.
Have you tried putting stage1 no mods ots map on since you stocked out the intake?

I'm confused, first you say you have the Corksport SRI and now its the Cobb?

As far as the internals go, you're fine. It only matters when you start adding big power upgrades like the DP/Test Pipe.

I have a 2012... Cobb intake. Turbo just replaced and they said it was bc intakes on 2012s are lethal to the operation of engine/turbo. They said never reinstall the intake.

They also claimed my front grill could have caused the turbo seals to die... I LOL'd

Now worried about advancing in my plans to mod my brand new car :S
