Question on blank buttons
 

Okay, I have searched and searched and can't seem to find anything on this. I have a 2012 touring w/tech package and as far as I know, it is fully loaded minus auto dimming mirror. I can't seem to find out what would be in these blank spots, there are 2 of them that are blank. Maybe some answers, anyone?

These pics are not of mine, they are from Google I just didn't want to go out in the cold to take a picture.

Mine has the AFS BSM and DSC buttons but what is the 4th small button and the larger button?

The larger one on the right is for the dealer installed under dash lighting kit like the one in your second photo. A dimmer switch goes there.

Ohhhh... hummm what does a kit like that run? Any ideas?

I have the absolute base-trimmed model, I have like a million of those blank fuckers. At least I can say "race car, that shit just adds weight".

One is for the Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSM). You can toggle it on/off from a switch there. Are you sure you have the tech package? If you don't have the auto-dimming mirror, or the BSM system, I'd argue you don't. I figured every tech package pretty much came equipped the same. Have you checked the VIN# to see?

I do have BSM off, AFS off, and DSC off buttons, just missing the one tiny button and the larger button (which as stated before that is for dimming the footwell lights). As stated before, the pictures are not mine - just used for reference. It is definitely the tech package but it doesn't have the auto dimming mirror, not sure why. The other one I looked at did have auto dimming mirror but it had damaged wheels and dents and dings so of course I didn't go with that one.

Nope, I have the two blanks as well. The only buttons I have extra are for the heated seats, and those are just in front of the shifter, below the climate controls.

And damn I need to wash the inside of my car lol

Alright so maybe it isn't a smoke screen, but it is for my laser jammer.

Someone should source OEM fit buttons for those slots...having a 2010 I have a couple of them and they'd come in handy for auxiliary stuff.

That is pretty clever switch! I hate seeing blank buttons, trying to figure out what I can put there....

You can use the OEM blank button for a SWAS on/off. Custom DIY with a 1$ push button!
