Quick Question

I've search google and looked through this forum for info on this. On my genpu, the rear M emblem seems to be held on my a glue like substance on the peg. Seeing that this holds it in place, after removal what did you guys use to hold it in place after reinstalling?

In the past, on my WRX and S60R I've used 3M emblem tape. It's double sided and holds up well. But you want to trim it very well and want to make sure you get it into the crevaces of the embleml. That way the badge will be ~flush with the car.

I haven't done so with the mazda though, so maybe someone else can shine a light on it.

Just go to auto parts store and look for 3m VHB tape aka emblem tape. I usually cover the back in big stripes then flip it over on a piece of glass and trim with a sharp knife.

Nothing. The "peg" just presses into the hole. Wont come out on its own.

There are multiple threads that confirm this...you can go through the trouble of cutting double-sided tape, but most people just pop it back in place and have said that it holds fine.

Thanks man, ill just fish it off then and hope for the best. I honestly searched for it, mostly through google(search bar on forums wont work on my phone?) and came up short. Possibly wrong key word idk.. But thanks again

Yeah, it took a while to find when I searched for it too...no worries there, I know you tried. Just wanted to let you know that it's in multiple places so if it doesn't work for you for some reason then I guess everyone lied haha. Let me know if it all works out for you.

I guess I should clarify that my method was a generalization. I wrap a lot of cars and sometimes I have to reattach the emblems. The method I mentioned is how I do it but if your emblem holds on fine without the VHB tape then I wouldn't sweat it.

I used the double sided 3M tape. It has been on since about February, and it has held up great. I made my own evil M out of my original one, although I did purchase an evil M on eBay, which the tape didn't stick well and I couldn't get the emblem to sit flush with the car, even with manipulating it.
