It probably won't have any negative impact since that intercooler is huge, but any added layers of material, paint included, will insulate it and reduce its cooling properties. You can have it painted with thermal displacing paint, but its not cheap That said... It looks good, and you won't notice |

To help keep the heat in the DP, expels the gases faster. Less heat up front. Increases temps, increases velocity. As the exhaust gases cools down, expands and it slows down when it gets to the exit.
