Rear tow hook question

I got my MS3 stuck in the mud pretty damn good the other night after all of our rain and snow and when I popped that little round cover off the back bumper to screw in my tow hook I noticed all that is there is some styrofoam. There is no place to screw in the tow hook. I ended up having to use the tow hook under the bumper near the exhaust.

I searched around and another thread had a guy asking about using those loops and someone mentioned that we have a rear tow hook.

I even looked in the manual and all they refer to on the MS3 is the ones near the exhaust under the bumper, not the one in the bumper. If this is the case what is that little plastic cover on the rear bumper for?

I bet if you took off the bumper and the foam, there's a screw hole.

I considered that but why would they cover it with styrofoam and then tell you to tow by the hooks underneath? And why would they put a plastic cover in the bumper if there isn't a hole for the hook?

the MS6 has fold down seats yet comes with a cover that covers them up so u can use them. all you need to do is remove that cover to gain access to the through hole between the trunk and the cabin.

mfg's do all kinds of crazy shit, bitches be crazy haha

Now I have to pull the back bumper off and remove the styrofoam just to see if there is really a hole for the tow hook.

just pop that little cover off and use a knife to cut out a box in the styrofoam and see whats under there.

Yea the thought crossed my mind while I was trying to get it out but it was about 28 degrees and I had already stepped in 2 mud holes and was freezing so I just wanted the damn car unstuck. I'll check it out in the next day or two.

Something like that. My wife had a friend over so I went around her car and it was just too soft from all the rain and snow. Summer tires plus soft ground plus mad powah = epic fail. Worst part was I had just gotten an oil change and washed the beast and it got covered in mud sling.

Nudes of said friend?

I can relate, I still have a gravel driveway gets kinda of squishy. I also have 30 head of cattle across the street, in twelve tears not one argument with them.
