Rubber seals on doors melting I live in Northern California, which has been getting quite a bit of heat lately. Yesterday, a passenger noticed that the passenger door rubber seal on my '12 melted a bit and stuck itself to the body of the car, peeling the seal away from the door. I managed to place the seal back into the door's frame, but now I'm wondering what will happen if the issue reoccurs. Can I go to Mazda and have them replace it? Sure you could, onlinemazdaparts.com should be able to hook it up. Why waste money when you have a warranty tho? I would at least see what the dealer had to say. |
Thats exactly what the bumper to bumper part of the warranty is for.... why the hell wouldn't you have them fix it? Not like you need to stock out to have it fixed. |
Warranty... nothing is minor.... you pay for it. |
Fair enough, will go see the dealer. Thanks, guys! Anyone else have this happen to them? |
Mine are still good after 126K and almost 7 yrs... |
I can't see the pics - blocked from work. First, I agree with all of the above - have the dealer fix it under warranty. This seems unusual for this to occur. Are you sure you haven't used a product on the door jam or seal that would aid it to stick? I mean, if it's truly just melting then it should happen to all doors...or a minimum of both passenger doors. Maybe a passenger got something on the seal/jam at some point? |

you put up a sun visor when you leave your car? And crack the windows? If not, you should. I've seen windows blow out from the heat. Be suprised how hot it can get. I saw 149* last year in my car from being left 6 hours. |
