I wish Mazda would of made the mirrors and the rear bumper the same color. Kind of looks shitty imo, I'm not digging the silvery rear valence. Wheels look nice though

That IS stupid that the rear valence is grey. Why not just do it black mica like the mirrors? The '13 is nice, but that's kind of strange...

I was kinda hoping they would redesign the whole thing again like they did for gen2. I'm not a huge fan of the pu's and this one looks essentially the same

the shift knobs are taken off for the show so people don't steal them.

Haha, just bought my 2013 yesterday in Red. Seems to be a very popular color all the sudden. I rather like the color combination, Honestly, I think it looks great.

The rear looks like a matte finish...kind of dumb.

They should have done the mirrors and rear valence the same color as the grill.

They didn't upgrade the stereo other than swapping in a touchscreen HU w/ nav and adding USB. The system is still the exact same Bose one.

I don't think it looks matte? I'd guess it's the same color as the front bumper insert. If it was matte it wouldn't show reflection like it does in the picture...

if you get a 2013 and are still butt-hurt then plasti dip it black
or be a hipster and get it repainted to be body color like 2010-2012

You really have to see the car clean in day light to appreciate the color combination and offset. When I saw the pictures, I was a little on edge, but seeing it in person changed my mind, hence why I ordered it. It is a terrific balance in my opinion. The only beef I have, is the mirrors should have been the same color as the rear valance, not black.

does the interior still have the stoopid red accents or did they finally just keep it black?

I like the red, I like the smiley grille, and I like everything else about the genpu.

I like the new rear and darker wheels and mirrors, but I think they should have all been the same gray color as the front grille.

I don't like the black mirrors, it reminds me of how many years ago, the standard side mirrors for many cars were moulded with cheap black plastic, and that you actually had to PAY to upgrade the mirrors to match the body color.

I'm on the fence about the valence, I think it looks good either way.

I AM, however, jealous of the new wheel color... I would love to buy a set of these myself.

Saw the 13 there also. I agree the mirrors should stay body color. The wheels do look pretty good, but IMO for a stock car I like silver better.

@whyser; You can get your OEM wheels powdercoated for $60-80/wheel... this way you can choose the color and you get a better-than-factory coating and you're only out ~$250-300...

In my opinion, the sharp lines/edges on the spokes of the wheels kind of seem to look more "washed out" with the new darker wheel color... it makes them look less defined. Has anyone else noticed this?

Kind of but not really

I would consider sanding + powder coating, but I heard the heating/baking process to cure the powder actually can affect the integrity of your rims which is something I wouldn't want to do.

As for the look of the rims, I would prefer a slightly more gunmetal color, as these ones look almost black. These rims remind me of the RX-8 R3 rims, just slightly smaller. They are beautiful.

What I'm also interested in is whether we can upgrade our head unit with the 2013's nav touch screen!

I guess to some degree it just looks that way because it's hard to get good pics of dark wheels... but it definitely doesn't look as defined and sharp. Don't get me wrong, I DO like the new color... just not this particular quality.

I would potentially be interested in this down the road as well... but I foresee it being really expensive.
