Shaky hood Does anyone have a problem with their 2nd gen hood shaking while driving... There is one thing that I have noticed on my 12 MS3 that I have never noticed on any other car... To me it seems like the hood shakes and moves quite a bit while driving... I have checked the tightness of the mountin bolts and checked the adjustment of the hood latch... So all in all just curious to see if anyone elses hood shakes more than normal... |
I've seen mine shake driving 80+ mph. But it was a windy day as well. That was the only time I caught it. I've been over 100 several times, but didn't think to check and see how much it was shaking, if it was shaking at all. Hood vent ftw. |
Mine started vibrating after I installed my JBR 80 rmm |
That might be what it is then... Kind of makes me nervous sometimes... |

I'm sure its normal,I have also removed the rubber hood seals |
this was a topic covered back in 2010 when the gen2 first came out. hood barely moves because of hood scoop (air forced in at speed, pushes up on hood because its trying to escape)...its nothing to worry about, it happens. |
I posted this issue a few months back.....I noticed the hood jumping around quite a bit...usually up in the triple digit speeds....its the hood scoop causing this. But no need to be alarmed, it stays put even at 150mph. |
Well, if by chance it does get enough wind resistance to rip off the hood; just think of all the cold air you'll be getting. Racecawr meng! |
I have nothing in my hood, and i have noticed this but it is all right. @voltron and yes at 150 she is still there lol. |
Yeah it stays put at 147 and is all fine and dandy... Just wanted to see if I had an odd ball hood or something... Kind of figured it was the scoop... Thanks for the input though... |
Yeah, I can't speak for 150, but 135 shit is definitely still there. :D Of course this was only done in a 135mph zone. ;) |

I have a Genwon and it shakes. So it isn't the poop scoop. I don't really give a fuck about it though. Otherwise I'd adjust the latch. |
