Shift boot click when shifting into 6th - any way to fix?
 

Since I bought the speed, I have not had to use 6th gear much. However, when I shift into it, I notice a "clicking" noise that is caused by the shift boot. Please see the video below. At first I shift into 6th gear without a "click" noise and then with it. The difference is at first the shift boot is not in it's "natural" state, while later it is (shifting into other gears for a while places it into this state).

Has anyone had this issue and/or knows how to fix it? Simply repositioning the boot only fixes it temporarily.

I'm thinking about ordering a shift boot from a third party. My leather is beginning to tear off of the plastic piece that wraps around the stick due to the amount of times I've taken the knob off trying to fix the issue. Does anyone know of any good replacements for a stock one? So far, I've found short shift boots only. Will the MZ3 shift boots fit? If so, is Mazda Mazda3 2010-13 shift boot - RedlineGoods leather shift boot store reputable? Would a more fitting thread color be red or dark red?
