And so it begins...

Never planned in modding my 2011 MS3 until I found this forum and started watching kill videos. DO'H!!!! Damn you all!!!! :damnit1:

Got in on @Rich-PMS AP group buy today and then called SURE and ordered an Aeros, Sidewinder and TorqR3 (street).

Can't wait to get all this goodness installed.

I said I wasn't going to mod either. So much for that, waited 9 months too long. You will love the upgrades. Welcome to the forums, nice job donating.

That's always super exciting. I didn't think I would start modding either and I kinda miss the days when I was just AP/intake/rmm...so simple.

I will say tho, you might wanna look into upgrading your fuel pump with internals if you are going to be upping the boost, etc.

Mike@Stratified 01-10-2012 06:46 PM

Almost forgot, yesterday I also finally put on the black RPF1s I bought a month after I bought the car. Man, I'm lame...

Yeah that is next on my list. Right now I'll just be running OTS maps from COBB for my stage 1 setup. Thanks!

It's like eating chips....once you have one...you want moar!!!!!

I always knew I'd be modding this car...finally something I'd drive worth modding. good choice on the first steps.

Also, super jealous of the rpf1s. what size wheels and tires are you running?

SweetJP 01-10-2012 07:53 PM

Great first two mods!

That's me minus the AP. I continue to consider an AP for the right price, seems like a fun toy having different presets at your fingertips when driving, but I don't want to bother with the fuel pump and running an AP without at least an internals upgrade is a risk I'm not willing to take, not for a few ponies. The way I see it, I'd rather sock away "mod money" for my future BMW/Audi but I still think it's awesome what some of you guys on here are able to do with a turbo 2.3L 4 banger.

you can get the AP to just monitor. i think most would recommend you should absolutely get it so you can keep an eye on your FP even on stock. it's always good to data log. also, the OTS Stage 1 maps are meant for a stock FP. and again, you don't have to flash anything. but if you put on a new intake system, you should get the AP to at least data log. IMHO.

^^I deff agree with this post. I only have an intake on my car and only plan at most engine wise maybe getting a new TIP, but I still picked up the AP to monitor my FP just in case. As long as you don't mess with the boost or anything like that running an AP stage 1 will be perfectly fine.

you should totally get the TIP. the OEM piece is crap. if TIPs could reproduce, the OEM one would be an inbred baby.

bigriver 01-12-2012 12:43 PM

Stage2 is where the fun begins. Just the race pipe (cheap mod) on Stage 2 (with internals) made a huge difference.

Eventually I will. Still got some suspension parts that need to go in first.

Let me know if you need those internals or anything else. Enjoy the modding!

Thanks Eric, it is definitely in the plans for 2012. Just have to wait a few months; it's hard hiding money from the wife :happysad:
