(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I have searched through the stickies and found some great info. Most of them just list the different brand/parts and not specifically which ones work best or together. I drive the car every day, so I'm not trying to go too crazy, but I can feel the poor car is under a lot of restriction. Basically I don't want to buy a specific brand part and replace it soon after because it wasn't the best choice. I am a certified mechanic, so doing the work is not a problem, I just want to get the right stuff the first time. I was looking into a BPV, intake, and exhaust. Feel free to comment or share suggestions. I know there has probably been similar threads, so I really appreciate your time and input. Hopefully I don't get thrashed too bad.. lol

| Not Ranked : 0 score Read this: Intro to your mazdaspeed You'll get a lot of input on what brands work best together.. I personally like the Corksport SRI/TIP combo - well priced too. You can hold off on the bpv as it doesn't do much unless you're pushing more boost. FP internals and AP are good to get early on.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm a newb on these forums myself, but you're probably gonna want to start with the intake and possibly turbo inlet pipe (corksport sells a kit) as far as restrictions go. Changing the exhaust doesn't do much on these cars, and our stock BPV is good till about 19 psi IIRC. After you replace turbo inlet/intake you will hear the BPV enough if that's what you're looking for. Also, a RMM is a must on these cars, even if it's just an insert.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @eric@edgeautosport Edgeautosports is running an intake/tip & RMM package. I suggest that to start with for sure. Hold off on the BPV and exhaust work. Thereafter, an AP for sure.

| Not Ranked : 0 score What's your budget? For ~$1200 you can do a CorkSport SRI/TIP, race pipe, HPFP internals, and AP. That will yield nice gains, good drivability, and a solid foundation for future mods. There's a plethora of non-power mods that can improve the DD experience but based on your post those don't appear to be your top priority. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This has been discussed at least a thousand times. Seems like the logical order is as follows: Very first: prolific use of the search engine, then: 1) AP 2) fuel pump 3) SRI or CAI (RMM in here at some point) 4) downpipe or test pipe 5) quality tuning 6) and on and on.......... |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Wow, hats off to this forum!.. I didn't expect a huge positive response so fast, so thanks to all. Ok, I can figure most of this out but some of the abbreviations are throwing me off. I am not trying to make a drag car out of this or anything, just want to free up some of that hidden power that I feel is being restricted. I don't plan on upping the boost just yet, so I think I can wait for the BPV. Here's a small list I'll put together of the info everyone shared: Short Ram Intake/ Turbo Inlet Pipe - I was looking into these, but there are many different companies and styles. FP internals - I see this is an internal fuel pump upgrade. same as CDFP I assume? AP - Cobb Access Port ? Seems like a good tuner. Downpipe/test pipe - any brand in particular? I'm not trying to spend a million dollars, but I don't mind spending the money where I need to. I do have some corksport parts on my mx-6 and they always seem to have quality products. Someone I know is selling a CP-E Stage 1 60a rear mount and Forge V1 BPV for $125. thoughts? Thanks again guys!

Short Ram Intake/ Turbo Inlet Pipe -all companies are good but it seems most use Corksport, then Cobb, then Cp-e, then Sure then everything else. FP Internals...yes your assumption is correct. AP = Cobb Access Port: Very good and vital. There is much to read at Cobb's site regarding this tuning device but you can also learn a lot from Abilor's guide here (it's a sticky), look for it. Downpipe/test pipe - You don't necessarily need both at the outset....test pipe is more than adequate to get some noticable gains...BUT should basically only be done after everything else above, as far as brands see SRI-TIP manufacturers again. You should have the RMM (Rear Motor Mount) as a higher priority than the exhaust changes. It's cheap, stops engine movement and enhances traction for all the power you are hoping to add!!! Brands - James Barone, Cp-e, Sure... Ok enough basics .....you're going to have to put in some hours searching......and reading!! ![]() Have fun and welcome!!!

So...here's what I would suggest for your daily driver-MS3: 1. Donate 2. AccessPort 3. Autotech HPFP internals (yes, CDFP) 4. SRI (Short Ram Intake) - brand doesn't really matter as long as there's a MAF straightener and you calibrate your tune accordingly. 5. Downpipe - Again, it doesn't matter too much which brand you go with. There are a number of people on here with good gains on cheap M2 Ebay downpipes. With those mods and a decent tune, you'll feel some VERY noticeable gains performance- and fuel economy-wise (if you can stay out of boost hehe).

| Not Ranked : 0 score You can have a lot of fun with an intake and AP. Throw on a RMM and romp on it. FP internals won't be a necessity until you start opening up the exhaust stream but it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in them to be safe.
