Stock MS3 floor mat fail! wtf.

Just curious if anyone elses MS3 floor mats have worn out pre maturely. I have a 12 MS3 (bought it in February 12) and the plastic pads on the drivers floor mat peeled up. Of course I just wen to the dealer to get it repalced under warranty but because the floor mat is a "wear" item they are only covered up to 12k miles and my car has 14,750 miles on it.

I asked the dealer if we could excersize a little lattitude here considering I drive 500 miles a week and have only owned it since Feb but of course in usual "go fuck yourself" fashion the dealer declined.

So has anyone else dealt with this? I may just try to glue em back down. Seems like a stupid issue but when you only own a car for 9 months it is pretty aggravating.

I'll post a picture in a few min.

This is a shitty thread.

But, to be completely honest, if this happened to my floor mats, I'd be fucking pissed.

So, fuck it. Shitty thread allowed.

bstover17 11-20-2012 01:28 PM

Damn, I just hit 32k in my 2010 ms3 and my mats look way better than that :/ I would guess faulty from the get go but I am sure the dealer doesn't give a shit.

PushingRedline 11-20-2012 01:37 PM

I got my '12 the same time you did and mine don't look that bad at all. I am sorry. That completely sucks.

3Gee Tee 11-20-2012 01:44 PM

My car has over 70k and the original floor mats are still mint; because GenWon.

Boatcop1 11-20-2012 01:59 PM

LOL Agreed this is a shitty thread but i just needed to vent!

I feel I may have won over the service manager if I wasn't so pissed when I asked him to excersize a little lattitude! I figured that was better than saying "common sense" but either way I got ass fucked as expected.

tinboi479 11-20-2012 02:08 PM

Oh well just glue it

Keko 11-20-2012 02:10 PM

Hmm I would say this is a pretty unique problem. I can't imagine it failing on its own since February. Looks like you Rick James your floormat when you drive honestly

You basically fucked up where everyone fucks up... Building a rapport with the service guys.

It's amazing how much they'll take care of you if your polite, respectful, and professional.

Ask me how I know?

Sig_Nasty 11-20-2012 02:15 PM

Youre lucky you have that plastic part. on my '10 i have worn a hole through just below the clutch. just ordered some weathertechs though, so no more ugly floor mat.

CamSpeed360 11-20-2012 02:16 PM

Dude take the car back. This is fucking preposterous.

MizzyMS3 11-20-2012 02:19 PM

My '12 didn't even come with those mats that have the plastic piece there for some reason. But that's ridiculous they wouldn't cover it

Ryguy 11-20-2012 02:23 PM

That happened to me as well, I just bought another set. Stop driving in high
heels, problem solved.

I agree, It started off shitty, It felt like I was bothering the guy and when I asked if he could at least look at he wanted no part of it. The car was parked 20 ft from the desk! Really bro? That's what pissed me off. Fucking entertain me bro!

Same here.

...and at 5k miles, I can already tell that the mat is beginning to wear under the clutch pedal.

I'm also not too thrilled about the "Toyota Warning" that permanently attached to the mat.

Geo13 11-20-2012 02:42 PM

I will be placing a brand new, never been used 2010 MS3 (berber style) mats with white lettering and red stitching in the FS section soon......would look nice in the CWP. Just saying.

No plastic section for me, either June '12, non-tech....Just a piece of cheap carpet.

CaptObvious75 11-20-2012 04:36 PM

xxdjfate76xx 11-20-2012 04:40 PM

Not true. I looked pretty closely for extra wear in front of the peeling and didn't see anything that didn't look like normal wear and tear

qweedqwag 11-20-2012 05:28 PM

My 12 has different mats I don't have the plastic part on mine. Hmmmm

taf0422 11-20-2012 06:09 PM

lol. Gen 1 FTW. Original mats, still look brand new 2007 (actually late 2006 model) 90,000 miles exactly :flowers1:

OP that sucks about your mats.

predapio 11-20-2012 06:31 PM

I bought all weather mats the week after I bought my car and I plopped them right down on top of the OEM ones. (even though it says not to do that).

They look mint.

That's different. Not much you can do if the service guys are dicks to begin with.

I guess I got lucky. My nearest dealer seems like they actually want to help.

If you don't want to spend money on a new set, I'm sure you'll find a decent set of used ones on here.

Yeah not too worried about it. After all it's just a mat. I'll figure something out later. I don't even want to know what an OEM set cost! Maybe just get some Hello Kitty or Elmer Fud pieces to rock?

Gotta go hardcore, man.

Yosemite Sam with guns drawn.

Or rainbow brite.

Either one screams macho.

GunGuru727 11-20-2012 10:41 PM

Who the fuck does not have all weather mats these days?

I thought it was a standard to put them in the second you buy the car?

:kabong:

Lex 11-20-2012 10:50 PM

You know what they say about big feet ... rect mats :)

Limeybastard 11-20-2012 11:30 PM

Your mazdaspeed logo is red mine is white.

FamiliaGT 11-21-2012 03:02 AM

I ordered my car with all weather mats. The cloth mats are still in plastic. My 07 speed had 120k when I sold it and the matt's where still decent.

3Gee Tee 11-21-2012 04:46 AM

OP needs to stop wearing high-heels when driving.

Those of us who don't see snow, or otherwise don't go muddin' in our cars don't need them.

So?...is that a bad thing? Just cant wear shorts in the summer though...lose too many hairs getting out of the car...rofl

Jetech 01-23-2013 02:12 PM

i wore through my all weather floor mats under the clutch, gas/break in 2 years. anyone else have that problem? it could be just my foot positioning

Oliverms3 01-23-2013 02:14 PM

either your foot is made of sharp metal or you wear shoes with some high heels on them

jamesr242 01-23-2013 09:33 PM

OEM all weather mats suck ass. Did the same thing in less than a year and no high heels either, lol. The material is way too soft. I got some weathertech mats and the problem is solved. I believe Husky also makes some now too
